Detroit failing to score when they were dominating in the second period really hurt them. I'd imagine TB felt really good after two periods to not be losing. I'll be rooting for TB next round.

Yeah, as a Rangers fan, I enjoyed Boston not making it. My predictions: Ottawa @ Montreal: Ottawa in 7. Detroit @ Tampa: Tampa in 7. Pittsburgh @ NYR: NYR in 5.

I'm rooting for Calgary. Hoping they beat Anaheim but it's probably not going to happen. :-( I would be fine with either the Caps or Canadiens coming out of the East.

I'll be rooting for TB next round.

What??? They'll be playing an original six team. The most storied franchise in the history of the game no less! And you're going to root for a roller hockey team from the sunbelt?? Shame! I just hope that good ole CP got all rested up. It's probably going to take another class A theft job to get the Habs past Tampa. But, you know, he just might do it.

Unless the top 6 remember how to score goals the Habs are in serious trouble. Can't expect Tom Gilbert and Dale Weise to be heros every series....

Why do you say the Calgary can't beat the Ducks? A split in Anaheim and the Ducks are a little screwed, I'm going against every preview I've seen... Calgary in 6... If the series goes 7 Flames in 7... I'm hoping it's not Calgary/Minnesota in the Campbell Final. I'm dead set against a New York Montreal Wales final as well... I'd rather it isn't Tampa and New York in the Wales Final... If Calgary plays NYR in the final, my ass will be on StubHub buying tickets to game five, and I'm calling in sick to work if I have to...

Anaheim is big and tough with a lot of depth. Calgary is pretty young and inexperienced. But I'm still pulling for them.

Bad loss for the Rangers tonight. Not overly worried, though. They didn't play their best game and were in the game. Ovi is a beast (like we all should know), but Holtby isn't playing like he did tonight all series.

Nice play on the goal by the Caps, but what did you guys think of the Backstrom hit that helped set it up? Tend to think a guy with some other name might have got a whistle on that one.

I'd be less than jovial if that happened the my club.

Actually, I was commenting to my gf after the announcers and the folks on the post-game show were discussing about it being a possible penalty and I said that the officials had swallowed their whistle for most of the night and to make a call there would have been inconsistent and wrong.

Boyle tried to eat the puck and run out the clock and after the hit, Ovi picked up the puck, and with two players on him, he made a nice play.  Hats off to him.

I think the Rangers fell asleep a bit.  With Boyle down on the ice, Ovi having two guys on him, no one was covering the front of the net.  JT Miller in the post-game said he should have been so I respect that.

On to Game 2.
