Ah, gotcha.

True. Although I don't like him hitting an almost double cross pull trying to hit a fade off a fade lie.

I can't recall that shot, but if it was the approach on 18, you know that was a muddy @$$ ball. All so rts of stuff hap pens when you hit those.

That guy apparently went to the Joe Morgan School of watching replays along with the audience and then clearly not paying any attention to the video you're actually watching.  He had in his head what he wanted to say and didn't actually pay attention to the video.  Then sort of recovered at the end. ;)

That is exactly what happened. Only after he knew he was way off about Tiger's head being level does he interject the part about TW and Como having some more work to do on the head movement thing.

Tiger is -4 on the day. anyone that thinks hes "done" is just out of their mind. give him a couple more tournaments injury free....

Might be done, might not be, who knows. Today's round was nothing special considering he beat only 5 other players on the course. Not that you said it was special, you didn't. Just making a point.

Yeah, the approach on 18, mud balls will curve if anything, I'm pretty sure it's was a straight pull, he closed the clubface and his path and face matched. Thurman Munson.

Not sure if this is the correct thread. I saw a short film during the rain break about TW 'new' swing. The commentator said TW wasn't dipping his head so much, and stressen the importance of a steady head, which is nice. I was wondering what is worse: your head diipping or your head moving side tot side. If you want to learn people a steady head, but somehow that person isn't able to control it, would you take a dip versus Side by side? Diipping should bring an other swing fault than a side to side moving head? Is their a thread about steady head? Couldn't find it, I.e. An answer to my questions. Thanks.

Steady head is mostly concerned about lateral motion. Many good players can drop and that's okay. Many also pull slightly away from the ball (a little early extension). Also often okay.

I liked the part of yesterday's broadcast where they decide to takle a look at Tiger's head movement. The announcer says "Tiger has been working hard on keeping his still, so let's take a look at his head in this swing. His head is level .... his head is level .... his head is "pretty" level" His head had dipped about 7 inches. Maybe they thought we couldn't see his head was WAY under the line they just neatly drew for us. You can't make this stuff up.

I recall them saying the head dipped, and that's something he and Chris will continue to work on. You can't make this stuff up....or maybe you can. I could use a good laugh. I personally hope Tiger does well. When he does well, golf wins.

BTW, does anyone know why Mickelson isn't playing in this tournament?

I don't think he ever really has. It's Tiger's thing.

Ahhh. I wonder if Tiger invites him and Phil declines or if maybe Tiger doesn't even invite him.

Pretty sure it's just "understood" between them.

That sounds like nonsense to me.  The fact is that 16 of the 18 spots are qualified for, not invitations.  There are 2 sponsor exemptions.

When Phil qualified he was invited.  I doubt if Tiger would want Phil to NOT play because Phil brings in fans which brings in money which benefits Tiger's foundation.  It is obviously Phil's decision to not play the event and he has every right to make that decision.

But then again, what the hell do I know?
