Looks like an updated version of Iron Byron, or very similar. I would almost bet that most perimeter-weighted irons made today would have the same results. TM would like you to think that only they have something "special" in their "new" clubs.

Anyone else here want to start hitting shots like a robot?  Hitting the same distance each time with any club in my bag.. hmmmmm  a dream come true!

Just guessing here, but since this is a machine, a real person's hands, arms, and other golf swing body parts used in the swing are made of  metal.

If I hit a ball off the toe, or heel, my hands, and arms are going give a little in some what of a twisting sort of way. This twisting will allow the club face open or close to some degree which will effect the ball flight.

This machine, and I am still guessing here, since it is made out of metal, will not twist, and will not allow the club face to open or close at impact.

Perhaps a human should have hit toe, center, and heel shots for a more realistic report.

Now, this makes me wonder. What if they were to take that machine and play 18 holes with it,  at say Augusta National. I wonder what kind of score it would post? I am assuming it can be set up to putt also.

Let's say it "misses" 4 putts. 54. Let's say the wind throws 4 shots off. 58. More realistically, the wind throws 8 shots off. 62?

I could just see that machine rolling onto the greens at Augusta. A phosphorus rocket  would come out of Ike's cabin and obliterate it to molten metal. Hootie would have a stroke!

I think what this experiment misses is that when a human misses the center like that other things are happening as well, meaning the plane and angle of attack could be way different that will definitely affect the balls flight a lot more, the only thing changing in this experiment is where the ball is being hit on the clubface the swing is completely identical in all three.

Still at least it is one part of the equation you don't have to worry about, distance loss on toe and heel hits. Not saying something else might cause distance loss, but at least part of it isn't because of the clubhead.
