I had a great day with friends and family today at the Tuesday Practice Round of the Honda Classic. We arrived early since I live about five minutes away. Sadly however, my phone died real fast. I was

@SteveBamford @boogielicious @Silent Hey, thanks, guys. Happy to do it. My dad was having phone issues too (he's the guy in the Nantucket red pants in the 2nd video), but here ar

I'm leaving for the pro-am in five minutes, so I'll get some more stuff later tonight. I've never been to the pro-am day, so I'm not sure what the protocol will be, but we'll see. Haha, if I se

Rory will need a birdie-birdie finish or he'll miss the cut. And even with that he's still not save...

No love for Brendan Steele?

He went birdie, birdie, birdie, birdie yesterday and was stopped after four holes.  That had to hurt, he was in the zone.

Oof, that's harsh.

I was there Friday. Weather sucked, but amazing to see the players and their golf from up close. Just mind blowing to see how well they strike the ball. They are in complete control and balance with beautiful tempo. Distances are off the charts. Lots of draw ball flights.

The weather really messed up this tournament. Pretty much all of the big names missed the cut, 36 hole finish tomorrow...about the only good thing I can say is that someone is probably going to earn his ticket to the Masters this weekend.

They really blew the weather forecast or just were too optimistic on GC.  It will be interesting to see who handles playing 36 holes the best as it's going to be a long day.

GC Morning Drive was really talking up Patrick Reed this morning.  I guess with Rory out of it and Phil being so inconsistent this year, Reed is the guy that's going to get the hype.  Reed moves the needle a bit in that he's controversial so it makes sense to push him given the current leaderboard.

    • Seems like he has a larger issue of possible felony indictment if aggravated assualt/battery charges were filed. His hope is that of a misdemeanor if a good lawyer can knock it down to 'had a very bad day'.   Worrying about a separate tour ban would be a secondary concern. Lifetime ban seems to be an over the top suggestion unless there were significant injuries, etc.
    • Played 18 yesterday. I shot a 92. No birdies on the card. I played at Deer Ridge with the TST gang on Sunday. No birdies there either.  I haven't made a single birdie in my last 4 rounds. Yet, I'd swear the swing changes I've been working on are starting to improve my swing. I keep heading out there with tons of optimism only to play terribly. My handicap is on the rise, but I maintain my optimism. I have golf league tonight. It's got to come together some time.... right?
    • Looks like MLB is cracking down on pitchers using foreign substances to enhance their pitching.  One pitcher blames MLB for his arm injury... Tampa Bay Rays' Tyler Glasnow blames MLB crackdown on foreign substances for his UCL injury (espn.com)
    • I can get behind that. Chalking something up as a very bad moment for a very young golfer is easy to rationalize. It would be hard to fathom there being a second time, but if there is, our guy needs to find something else to do with his life.
