RE: Reed. I told the people that I was watching with that he was stooooopid for running on the bridge like that -  possibly losing millions if he has to w/d in the future with an re-injury.

I just read in UK newspaper, The Telegraph, that earphones were forbidden on the  hallowed grounds of Augusta. The statement referred to TWoods who was, apparently, wearing them.  So it was unclear if only players were forbidden to wear earphones, or everyone who passed thru the grand and glorious gates of Augusta.

Anyone have a copy of the  ground rules for the Master's spectators?  Like, what is permitted, forbidden or tolerated only in the Porta-Potty?  At nearby, to me, golf club Big Sign says "No Mobile Phones permitted On Grounds". But no one pays it any mind.

If earphones were forbidden, then they sure didn't tell Tiger or Patrick Reed. They both were wearing them.

The mobile phone thing is no joke. Nobody inside (except maybe the media) has a cellphone. They're pretty strict there, you are right.

Looking at the "Spectator suggestions"...

I hated being around the greens when I went to my first tournament last year. The only good thing about it was the 2 for 1's they gave out when someone made a birdie.

If i had a ticket...I'd get to Augusta really early and park myself by the #12 tee box. To me this is the best spot. Where would you go?

I went for the first time yesterday, and #12 was one of my favorite holes. #16 is pretty awesome, too; watching Rory and Bradley Neil skip balls across the water was really cool.

^^Wow, I'm surprised. Getting on the road to Augusta in a few hours...looking forward to tomorrow!

I think the focus on Rory and his chance at the “Rory-Slam” or whatever they are calling it has motivated The Tiger to step it up. It may have flipped the circuit breaker in Tiger’s head to the ON position. Go Tiger.

If anyone can get a gif of Miguel duck waddling at the range while smoking a cigar...please post it here, lol.

    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
