I really hope Spieth doesn't run away with it. A 10 shot lead on Sunday is not very exciting.

We'll see, but I'm expecting Spieth to lead by at least 7 by the end of the day.

Seems like the contract to have the Masters on ESPN has cut down on what they are showing. When it was on ABC, i believe, the previous years they showed a lot more.

It has been on CBS on weekends for decades - probably since the beginning of the tournament. ABC has never had weekend coverage.  Over the last decade Augusta National has opened up more holes for telecast. Used to be that CBS was coming on air on Sat and Sunday when the leaders were hitting the 5th, 6th hole. Now they are so kind to allow us to see the leader tee if off - with limited commercial interruptions, as they say.

Well, you may say that today, but 10 years from now you may look back at it the same way we look back at Tiger's '97 performance. We always live in the present and want something thrilling, but for the future of the game, a runaway victory may not be a bad thing.

That being said, while I kinda want a close Masters as well for excitement, the fact I have a Vegas ticket on Spieth, I want him to have a 10-shot lead going into tomorrow haha.

      Do you have another son-in-law that you don't really like?  The answer to your question IMO is lessons. Many others have mentioned why.  BUT...... If you son in law is abnormally tall, or abnormally short, or has super long arms or super short legs or something like that, then at least a static fitting would be wise.  Having said that, just because lessons are likely to give him more improvement than new fitted clubs, doesn't mean you shouldn't give him the gift of new fitted clubs. There will still be some benefit there, plus, going through a fitting and getting shiny new clubs is fun. ... And golf should be fun.
