Tiger and Elin were married for 6 years - 2004 to 2010.  She ended up with $100 million.  Of course there were two children involved.  That seems like a pretty good deal for Tiger as he was the one who wrecked that marriage.

I'm more than happy to pass a negative judgement on people who post pictures of themselves like this. There's that word again -  narshiccistisstic.

I am a fan of this picture.

This is an incredible thread. It took me a fair amount of time to catch up and read the comments,  As pointed out in an earlier comment, this has generated a lot more. Of course the world of entertainment/sport revolves around the sensational.  I like the all the picks of her.  I like the wives pix for the Euros and the PGA.  It amuses me to see the guys normally in golf threads dressed in tuxes and acting as escorts.  I have no pony in this parade.  Cant think of one reason to speculate on lives that have no bearing, other than amusing and entertaining me, upon my life.  That has always held true for me about the life of Tiger and Freddy and Tom Watson and Sam Snead.

Sure, but time figures into the merit of a marriage in any divorce settlement. The word "real" can also be used to mean something treated in a serious manner. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/real

What you're saying is exactly how a short term marriage (less than 5 years) is viewed. I'll say one thing about my personal experience with divorce, and then I'm done. This is to address the folks that said I made it up, or those who couldn't find the term “real marriage” on google or those who just don't like to be told they don't have all the facts straight. I sat in a room with two lawyers, my now ex (we are still friends) and a judge. It took less than one hour to iron out all of the details and make a settlement that was agreeable. When we were done my ex and I said almost in unison, that's it? The judge closed his file looked at us and said, (I’m paraphrasing) the fact is that divorce is a common occurrence. Had this marriage been of a longer term, we would then have had to review individually the aspects of your relationship, financial holdings, child custody and debt as an establishment of partnership, and how much you weight each of you had in that partnership. It gets more complicated with duration. In the eyes of the court, a marriage of only four years with two parties both agreeing on terms that they themselves set forth with no children and no major debt, is more like a break up with legal referees. The job I have of disbanding a short term marriage is a matter of a few hours and paper filing. I’m glad you both realized this early and are able to move on. I’m not trying to call anyone right or wrong – just saying, try as you will, you can’t google empathy. The divorce of a marriage of less than 5 years is almost a routine procedure these days.

Good for her, In the Tiger case, she was never a money hungry girl. She was a nanny, clean cut good girl.

They would still be married had he not screwed up. He should have to pay for how he treated her.

She used him and got paid!  Most people on this board agree with me

This is total garbage. You don't know if she was money-hungry. You don't know that she didn't marry Tiger for money. Hell, she's more likely to have married Tiger for his money, considering that she worked as a nanny, didn't have a college education at the time, and worked as a model. You have more evidence to suggest that Elin is a gold digger than Amanda, for Christs sake.

Damn dude, no need to get angry. The argument he's making is a reasoned one based on the facts at hand. I don't know either way but it makes sense we'd have folks on either side of the debate. Given that this is an internet forum whose purpose is to allow folks to discuss their opinions, I'm at a loss to figure out why you've been so confrontational throughout this thread, unless of course you know her and factually realize that position is incorrect.

I'm angry because this thread is full of sexist garbage, and I find that disgusting. The conclusion he is deriving has no basis in actual, established fact, but in some sort of cultural insecurity and bias when it comes to men and women. There's a lot of talk about things like the friendzone (not in this thread, obviously), and how women only like a certain type of man, but when that is bucked and people like the Dufner's get married, it's assumed that Amanda is a gold digger.

Also, don't give me that crap about "this is an internet forum whose purpose is to allow folks to discuss their opinions", because I'm not trying to limit his ability to express his opinion. I'm exercising my right to free speech by calling his opinion idiotic and discriminatory. Also, it's pretty hilarious that you drop the "unless of course you know her and factually realize that position is incorrect" line on me, when Quadhole is literally calling Amanda Dufner a gold digger (and by implication an awful human being) when HE DOESNT KNOW HER AT ALL.

The thing that perplexes me...Can some of you imagine if your wife acted like Amanda did for the past three years? Constantly posting pictures of herself half naked for the world to see...would you really be OK with that and feel like she was a good gal with the best of intentions? Somehow I doubt it.

Meanwhile Elin appeared to be nothing but a classy, devoted wife, who didn't crave the spotlight and just wanted to be a good wife and mother. Yes, perception isn't always reality but if we're going to form opinions based on the facts at hand and what we've seen, then your argument is just asinine.

And you just accused Elin of being a gold digger so how are you any better? Get over youself dude.

If my wife acted like Amanda did, I won't care, because it's not my business to tell her what to do with her body.

You don't know anything about Elin, and neither do I. I'm not comfortable making judgments about her, good or bad, because I know nothing about her. That's the point I'm trying to make.

And you just accused Elin of being a gold digger so how are you any better? Get over youself dude.

Actually, no I didn't. I was simply pointing out how ludicrous is was to say Amanda Dufner was a gold digger, when, if you looked at the facts, Elin is more likely to have been a gold digger. I have no idea if she is or isn't, which, again, is my point.

Elin's life is irrelevant in a conversation about Jason and Amanda.

I won't even bother touching this one.

Thanks Doc. I didn't bring it up

Yeah, because my position is so unreasonable and crazy.

    • Played 9 yesterday at Rowley Country Club. Played a scramble format with my brother as my teammate and shot a 40 together. Wasn't good enough to beat my friends but had a great time. Had a decent few shots highlighted by a 174 yard 4 iron to 8 feet. Missed the birdie of course lol. 18 at Pease today.
    • Some great stories here. I'm more inclined to remember good wedge or iron shots than putts. Here's a few that stand out in recent memory.  #17 at Elizabeth Manor (my home course): Last year at Schaubach Cup. It is the toughest par 4 on the course. Long, uphill, OB on both sides, a large bunker guarding majority of front, another lining the right and a steep fall off on the back. Par is always a great score here. Needed a two putt to go in to flight playoffs. Good drive and a decent 7 iron put me on the green but left a long meandering 45 feet carrom putt with green rolled out to 12 on stimp. All but guaranteed a 3 putt for anyone who knows my poor distance control. This one felt good right from the second I walked up. Saw the six-ish break, and executed almost perfect speed and line for the best tap-in I've ever had. We made the playoffs and lost on the second hole eventually but damn that putt felt good! #14 at EM:  North-South (Ryder cup knock off with our sister course Williamsburg GC). This was one of those 30 footers where you putt up a ridge and let it fall off. Higher you hit, more it breaks. Anyway, read both line and speed perfectly aaaannndd executed to drop it from the side door. Demoralized the opponents and soon after shut the door on them the next hole. They had a chance until then. I had felt like I had turned the corner on match play prowess earlier last year.  #17 Stoneliegh, Round Hill This one was with @DaveP043. A 25 footer from a high shelf to a low shelf, where the putt required to be placed just at the right pace up to the precipice of the upper shelf for it takes the slope to anywhere close to the hole. Had been putting decent all day on fairly difficult greens. Dave gave me a good line and spot to nudge it up to. I took and executed for a birdie! Made it even sweeter since I had just birdied #16. #5 at the 6-hole Par-3 course at Belmont, Richmond: Was having a bit of fun with @iacas. Had a match going with him for a soda. Had to make par from 5 feet to tie him going into the 6th and final hole. The greens had heavy aeration holes so it wasn't exactly a skill test. Anyway, I pushed a nervy stroke for the ball to rim out half an inch away from the hole. On most normal the ball stays out, but lo and behold the large aeration hole cut on the edge of the hole comes to my aid and tilts the ball back in the hole!  I don't know what was more satisfying, the putt or the look of annoyance/disgust on @iacas's face at the ensuing run off celebratory dance. 😂. He managed to save face by beating me by a stroke on the last hole but man that was a fun day!
    • Its not. They are just giving an example in a situation say if cant reach it. Example, You have 230 to the center of the green, you cant hit a club you have that far, so you whip out a 3/5 wood or whatever, but you have to hit it soft because there is trouble in front of the green, a bunker or water. A full swing would land you in the trouble. You want to lay up as close to the green as you can. So you aren't hitting a full shot with that club so for distance tracking you can make that shot a provisional and it wont affect the distance stats.
