http://thesandtrap.com/t/77399/i-am-calling-you-out-as-a-non-golfer-if thread has more than ran its course.   Everything there is to say about the topic has been covered IMO.   I am opening a sister thread to "non-golfer" thread to cover the other end of spectrum.  If there has been a similar thread, this can be merged or closed but a quick search didn't return one close enough.

I will start:

If you ended up in divorce b/c you neglected your family duties b/c golf got in the way, you are a true golfer.  If you divorced twice because of it, you are beyond hope.

You have been fired more than once from a decent paying job for a habit that you just can't quit.

I know two people who run sizable businesses who have had to let great golfers go. One right after they won the tournament preceding an industry convention "for the company."

naw....you might be a non golfer if you wear the glove for the entire round.

Real golfers remove the glove between shots so it doesn't get all sweaty, greasy, and nasty.   HEHE......real golfers wear fresh clean gloves......not those nasty thangs!

Wrong thread sir!!

You are a true golfer if you go out as a single and don't mind being paired up with strangers. Most of my rounds (~80%) are played with strangers. My buddies either don't play golf at all or can only play once every few weeks due to family obligations.

I played a Payne Stewart signature course a couple years ago in Branson got paired up with an older couple mid 70's I guess. First few holes were very slow play then I asked if they wanted to play scramble format they agreed and it made for a fun day.

I do that.

My hands are still different colors.  I think it has something to do with how bad I suck.  I have to play a lot of shots. :-)

LOL. ;-)

To real golfers, hybrid does not mean Prius.   Drive means stepping up to a tee, not grabbing a car key.

Very much so! A friend of mine, who sadly gave up golf, told me he was getting a new hybrid. I was so happy, thinking he'd take it up again, but he has good Adams 3 and 4 metals, so I asked which brand. He told me, and I told him I didn't realize Ford had entered that business. Then I realized...
