4 over for the last 4 holes but a much better round for tiger(74),I wonder if he considers it a 'better" round.

I reckon he considers it better by a factor of 11.

Solid round by Spieth today. Can't believe I'm saying this, but his putting has actually been average this week. If he putted even somewhat close to how he normally does, he'd probably be winning this thing. Has missed a lot of 5-10 footers this week that he normally makes with his eyes closed.

Tiger Press conference, "Just because I'm in last place..."

Weird, there was no mention of his WD today which @Chris E t was going to happen.  (Obviously this reveals my inner Tiger fanboyism :-P )

1) Why the heck is he doing all this tweaking? It's only going to make things worse in the end. He's become way "too mechanical" with things and that's causing all these problems, IMO.

2) Have to agree with Chamblee. He's had Como for 8 months now....the results should be a lot better than this.

Should be looking good by the time the Champions Tour comes around.

The crappy thing for Chris is that he had to spend a couple months on Tiger's short game.

True, but I don't understand the need to tweak things after the Masters. He said after Augusta things were moving in the right direction and then he tweaks his swing yet again?  Swing actually looked a lot better at Augusta than it does now. The dip in the driver has gotten worse.

Thought Greg Norman had a great quote last night on radio....the more you change your swing in such a short time, the more lost you truly become and the harder it is to find the right swing because old tendencies and new tendencies start mixing with each other more often.

After listening to the presser, I thought Tiger displayed an excellent attitude.

Things are getting really exciting! Molinari now in the lead. Spieth trying to put up a good score. Currently -12. Six under on the day

Molinari has some real game. Never could figure out why he hasnt won more even worldwide. It'll be nice to have him as a full time member on the PGA now.

Spieth is in great shape going into Chambers Bay. How can he not be one of the favorites?

He is.

Tightening leaderboard, but seems like Molinari isn't letting anything get to him today. Think he closes today. Disappointed with Rosey today; just awful putting.

Some tough holes coming down the stretch, especially the two par-3s. If Molinari and Rose don't take advantage of 11 and 15, there's a 50/50 chance I would say that -13 could be good enough for a playoff.

Edit: Just as I type that, Rose is taking advantage of 11.

Getting more interesting... Rose looks to have the advantage blown an advantage

If that's the standard you have to post after the round and admit your folly, too, if he finishes it properly. And @David in FL and others. Also, @Chris E , there's a lot more to talk about here than TW. Lots of golf topics.

Glad that he played today, and I thought he handled his press conference graciously. Some of the "I gotta take a step back to take two steps forward" type rhetoric struck me as a little disingenuous, but I thought he did well considering the circumstances. I'm not surprised that he didn't opt to play with a marker. He probably didn't want to risk being beat by the 3d assistant pro at Muirfield. ;-) Chambers Bay is gonna be interesting.... • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
