After a string of mid 80s rounds, my last 5 rounds at indoor golf have been at or below 80 (77, 77, 81, 76, 75).

I realize simulator golf doesn't really count, but my scores at the start of the indoor season were bad due mostly to chipping and putting. Really bad. 3, 4, or 5 putts were the norm (even had one 6 putt - I think there was steam coming out of my ears). I've been hitting more knockdowns, and trying to leave myself a mid-irons approach, which both seem to be more simulator friendly.

My simulated putting is rock solid now (took an informal lesson and got a couple good tips on line - yes I know it's not the same as real golf, but the stroke is still the same). My ball striking overall is better now that I've settled on one set of irons (Cleveland TA1).

Went 39,37,37,37 - tips at Eagle Bend.
Today was 38 - front 9 tips at Alvamar

Shot 78 today and yesterday. Not too bad considering that it was windy and cool the last 2 days. But suppose to be getting better over the next few days. Temps in the mid 60's this weekend. Just in time for my club's first golf tournament. A 2 man scramble. A fun way to start the year. Looking forward to it.

79... one tap-in birdie (stuck a lob wedge from 75 yards to 3 inches), missed another birdie by a 1/2 inch. Greens were not that good, some fairways still had alot of almost bare dirt, lot's of bouncing on the greens. But, my early morning range time is paying off and hit some really good shots.

Shot a 94 this morning at Glade Valley, my partner convinced me to play from the tips (72.5/123, 6866) on our first true full round of the year. Actually struck the ball pretty well, but the four 3-putts and six holes I had more than 1-chip didn't help, I think I could have saved 5-9 strokes if I could just figure out my dang wedges.

Shot a 75. Finished strong with two birdies on the last three holes and left the birdie putt on the other hole 1 inch short. Had a really good chance to be at par today but let a few chips get away. I'm really getting things going right this year!

Okie.. I shot 51 over. But be patient as I've only started 1 month ago. :'( Same flight with me was a 10-year old girl who shot 32 over for a 104! :D

      First, you have some great choices in there.  Event Horizon remains a birdie movie for me.  It still finds its way onto the October options as Halloween approaches.  It fits well. I continue to forget that Arrival, when being referenced, is not the Charlie Sheen movie I saw in middle school. Lastly, what rating are you giving HG2?  Was it a par?  Bogey?  I gather from your review it didn't earn a hole in one on a par-4.  (I have yet to decide how I'm prioritizing that on my movie queue, and if I should even bother, so I'm looking forward to reviews here)

      I loved Arrival. Annihilation is a good one. Event Horizon is also one of my classic sci-fi favorites. And now for something completely different: Happy Gilmore 2. I watched HG1 as an adult, and it was alright, but probably would have been better if I watched it as a kid. HG2 had some good parts, but overall I wasn't a big fan. I knew there would be pros in the movie, but I imagined some cameos, not them being straight up actors through large parts of the movie. They're not actors and it showed. I could've done with a lot less of them and John Daly was maybe the best of the pros. The Maxi part was boring.

      Did I miss what your handicap was or how long you’ve been playing?  That Garmin chart is pretty useless.  Is the max number one of the numbers used to compute the average?  Without the chart don’t know how far you hit your clubs?  What do you hit from 150, ,160 etc…. Not looking at max and figuring the other numbers will probably have 10 yards of roll built in. It seems your launch and peak height are low.  I’d probably go Driver/5 wood/7 wood/ 5 iron
