@Bucki1968 did you use any online specialty services to book? Looking at Myrtle or Hilton Head for April 4 or 6 golfers. This would be 2nd trip planning. Only did 3 guys to St Augustine. That was a pain mainly due to only 3.

Headed to Red Sky GC in Colorado in a couple weeks.  Have been in UT ten years now, and unfortunately this is only my first golf trip to CO.  Really looking forward to it.

No I didn't use any online services. I just called the resorts/golf courses and got tee times. Actually didn't cost as much going that route. I got a multi-round discount at Sea Pines and got Oyster Reef 25 bucks cheaper than Tee times USA rate.

My parents are talking about letting me go on a fall break trip for the freshmen in PGM.

We would be going to the outer banks in NC to play. Four rounds at The Currituck Club, Nags Head and Sea Scape. I don’t have all the info about the trip but it’s definitely something I’d love to do.

In mid-January I am headed to Fort Walton Beach, FL for a month. Any suggestions on reasonably priced courses?

It looks like the City of Fort Walton Beach has two golf courses. The rates don’t look too bad. I suspect the courses are not “tier 1” but I alway feel comfortable at muni’s.

Heading to Orlando on Friday, got a full schedule for golf.

Disney Palms, Magnolia (14 holes), Lake Buena Vista, Eagle Creek, Championsgate (2 courses), Hawks Landing, Grand Cyprus and Orange County National (2 courses).

There is only me and my Dad, for Saturday, Sunday and Monday, if any Tst’ers want to join, if people haven’t joined our Tee times already. I think the tee times are around 8:30 each day

I’ll be down in Mesquite, NV for the first weekend in March.  My daughter has a high school softball tournament there so the wife and I will be taking the clubs to get a couple rounds in between Thursday and Sunday.  It will be nice to get away from all this snow for a few days.

I'm going to go play a small tournament over a long weekend in Vegas in early March.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

@jsgolfer planned this one, we're playing all of the most famous courses.  I've played a couple of them before, but I think the biggest thrill for me will be 36 at Muirfield, including lunch (wearing coat and tie) and afternoon foursomes (alternate shot).

    • Day 8: 12/17/2024 Okay I took my new PPJ swing thought to the range today. I wasn't sure I was quite ready to do so, but I'm glad I did.  When I got it right it was good... really good. When I got it wrong it was a major fail. I hit lots of really ugly ones. But I didn't let that deter me. I stayed committed and focused on the PPJ and I avoided any temptation to go back to what I was doing before just so that I could "look" better at the range. I'm pretty excited about what I saw when I got it right.  I hit the 6 iron mostly (nearly all block work today). I also hit about 6 balls each with the PW, 8I, 5W and Driver. Those had varying degrees of success. I did crack one drive that let me feel and see what the changes will look like once I get fully trained.  Anyway, I'm going to go back to the mirror work for a couple of more days before bringing it back to the range. I do feel like if I can get this right my swing will improve a lot. So I think its worth the effort. I liked the way it looked on GEARs when I get it right, and I like the results I got at the range when I got it right. Now the goal is to work towards getting it right more often.
    • So I think it's that they can't just bend the shaft or hosel to get it to a new lie angle. They adjust that and it changes the weighting, so they have to then adjust all the weights to get it balanced again. I get the impression that it's a bit of an iterative process and they do it all in the US, so they're paying US labor costs to build it and make it work how it's supposed to. Whether you believe in the tech or not, I think that's a true statement.
    • Ah, the old EE in the backswing move. Chest going back and staying down doesn't help.
    • Extremely outward path with a very closed club face. Maybe unless you have a stupidly weak grip, like right hand way over top, I don't think the grip is necessary highly correlated to this.
