Yes, I'm a bit behind in catching up here. I'm doing so now. Better late than never! 😄

Congrats!

Broke 80 today, shot a 79 at Sydney Marovitz Golf Club in Chicago. Smooth 39 on front nine and started leaking a little oil toward the end. Had a 10 foot downhill birdie putt on 18, and I didn't want to be the golfer who babied it to the 18th hole - so I rolled it 4 ft past and lipped out the par putt for an ugly ending 40. Still overall it was a 79 and I'm thrilled!!

Nice! Bummer about the last hole.

Broke 90 today (from the white tees) with an 88.   Most consistent round ever...now to turn the 5's to 4's and the 6's to 5's....

I Broke 100 today, shot a 96 (49-47).  Took longer than I had hoped but since I have only played a few full 18 holes rounds this year I will not complain.  Now I need to do this more consistently.

Wooooooo!

Hole in 1 today at Goodrich Country Club in Goodrich, MI.   184 par 3 using a 4H.   I thought the shot was long but couldn't find it past the green.   I looked in the hole and sure enough...

Last Thursday I finally broke 80 by shooting 38-39. It felt really good to get that achievement off my back, and I’m looking forward to more 70s scores coming my way!

Congrats on the Ace, I've looked beyond the green a couple of times
searching for an approach shot and ended up glancing in the hole.
A few times it was hiding there, but most of the time it was buried
in the basement ruff. 😞

Playing my local 9-hole executive course (par 30) before sunset.

No witnesses.  The geese didn't even seem to care.

Still, when I went up to the green:

OK, I'll join the fun and try to claim:

  • Broke 80 (about 10 times)
  • Eagle (many)
  • TST Outing Participant (I think last weekend counts!)
  • Lowest Score Wins (technically an "Award") (own the book, that's how I found TST)

About the "Broke 100" achievement, since it was on a PAR-3 course, I don't think it should count.

Today, however, ... 😁

Played my first round of 18 holes in over 10 years today and broke 100 by carding a 91 (I play 9 holes mostly due to lack of time).  I could have easily broke 90 with a few less penalties, so I look forward to doing that again and perhaps breaking 90.

I've broken 90 and 100 before, but may as well start over claiming the awards as I haven't done so in a long time.

    • Day 27 (17 July 26) - Normally an 18 hole day, but due to commitments abbreviated the round to 9 holes (played the back nine at home course).  Had a solid session where even the worst miss (tee shot off 18) was fully playable.  Shot a solid 39 (6pars, 3bogies) - not dbls, no three putts - just boring golf.
    • Overall, well said. People have to be very careful in trying to describe very complex problem in simple terms. In this case, it is a clear fundamental misunderstanding of Newton's 1st and 3rd laws.  To clarify more on the misinterpretation of Newton's 1st law. The exact interpretation of Newton's 1st Law....  "Every body continues in its state of rest, or of uniform motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed upon it" yea, a body will stay motionless unless a force acts upon it. An object will stay on its path of motion unless a force acts upon it.  I get it, complex physics problems are difficult. There is a lot of simplification done in most physics class when it is taught. A classic problem uses a frictionless surface. Projectile motion excludes drag and wind direction. Collisions are usually elastic. The golf swing is not a simple physics problem.  Yea, I think they got caught up the data on the graphs and are not truly understanding cause and effect.  If the golfer isn't first pushing into the ground, then the ground isn't going to push back.  The internal forces of the body create the motion, not the external forces from the ground. The ground isn't like what Psy uses to start his concert. 🤣 You probably need to be connected to the ground and have those GRF to help the body produce the motion you want. Your body has to move in the right way to produce the GRF which helps you move the body in the way you want. Body motion precedes the GRF.
