Agreed. All he did was make specific people aware of something that was publicly posted.

This reminds me of:

Poulter knew it would end up getting the guy fired, especially after what happened to Bishop.  The guy was a jerk, though likely drunk.  He didn't deserve to lose his job over it.

I'm no fan of Poulter, but this is golf.  It's supposed to be classier than certain sports played in large stadiums full of drunken louts.

I find the hecklers at golf tournaments really annoying.  I wish they would just be quickly kicked out of the tournament.

I know Sergio Garcia got heckled during the playoff at the Players Championship last year.   As a local resident of that area, I was embarrassed.   I can understand if people want to root for Rickie Fowler or some other guy, but I don't like it when people try to put their thumb on the scale like that and tilt the outcome unfairly.   Especially in golf, where the players have to walk right in front of the fans.

I find the hecklers annoying, poor sportsmanship around a game that relies on the sportsmanship and integrity of the players.  I find the moron shouting "in the hole" or "bababooey" completely annoying.  But if this guy had stopped at heckling, he wouldn't have any problems.

This guy felt the need to brag, in public, in a way that identifies him with the institution of higher education that employs him.  I wondered if he bought his tickets, or if someone had donated tickets to the College for the use of the employees.  If its the latter, do you think that same donor will feel so generous next year?  I also wonder whether this representative of the athletic department, which usually claim that one of their prime roles is to develop and promote sportsmanship in the student body, has set the kind of example that the College wants to project.  He's a moron on so many ways!

The guy that cuts the grass at Florida Southern could probably get away with it. Not the asst athletic director of development. Particularly on a social media account that links to his employer. More and more employers take social media seriously these days. Post on a bogus account If you absolutely must be an ash hat.

Fired from his job? Um, no. Punishment needs to fit the crime, a good punch to the face would've sufficed.

When it comes right down to it, Poulter's only recourse was to react to the tweet in kind, or just ignore it.  Suggesting that he punch the guy is stupid - that would only get him brought up on assault charges.

I personally don't care much for Poulter, but I'll side with him in this sort of an incident.  I'm so sick and tired of drunken idiots trying to influence the players on Tour and at other sporting events that I'm glad to see at least one have to pay for his moment of stupidity.

Not a Poulter fan but I have no problem with what he did. He didn't get the guy fired, he just pointed out his incivility. The fact that he has his employer's name in his twitter handle had more to do with him getting fired than anything else. Dope.

Gasp...  No help for 10 hours??  How do they get by???

Really not certain who he is trying to appeal to with that.

Yeah, really. Less than 10% of the parenting 2% (wealthy) might feel a little sorry for him. Then blame him for not paying for a nanny for his nanny to take vacations, and to make sure she travels in the same class. :-D

This is why drunks shouldn't ever tweet.  Per his own description, he's " Assistant Athletic Director for Development at Florida Southern College"  His twitter page specifically includes his employer, so when he brags about acting like a buffoon, it directly reflects on his employer.  If he had his own private account, he can publicize his stupidity  all he wants.  When he brings his employer into the picture, there SHOULD be consequences.  I wouldn't suggest he be fired, but there should be some kind of discipline. Don't start a fight if you don't want to be punched in the face.

You don't get much more specific than that. There's at least one person with this title in the entire world, and very likely not more than that! :-D

I think Poulter is an asshat, but If i never heard "in the hole" or bababooey or mashed potato again at a golf tournament, it wouldn't be soon enough. I'm sure those morons are bragging to their friends about getting on the air.
