What's the longest drive you've ever hit?

Whenever I REALLY nut one off the tee, I always do the math in my head to see how far it went. I've played 15 or 16 rounds with my new Big Bertha 454 and noticed I'm getting comfortable enough to really go after it as hard as I want. I've hit several about 320, but today nailed one 340. My usual is about 280, but the weather has been hot and dry so the ball is rolling a long way. I'm sure there are many people on this forum who kill the ball, so what's your biggest hit? (Not including cart paths)

MY best was about 350, but it was downhill with the wind going with me. With normal conditions, my longest is like 320 or so. I average at about 275-285 whenever I happen to hit the fairway.

My longest is around 325. It was a 460 yard hole and I had 135 left. The tees were in their normal positions and the hole was flat. There was very little wind. The course was a tad firm but they also hadn't mowed in awhile, so the fairways were a bit thicker than normal, so I figured it evened itself out.

Believe it or not, even though I live at 5000 ft., my longest drive that I can remember was actually at the Old Course. It was on #4 and there was not much wind but man did it bounce. When I hit it, it felt good but then I saw it hit and it shot up in the air and kept running. It was playing about 420 and I had an 80 yard shot left. Out here in Denver I'm usually hitting it around 280-290 but can get it out to 310 with a little effort.

With a big old tail wind I got over 300m (~330 yards). Well over my 230m average (complete miss-hits removed from calculations).

Good topic. Racking my brain, there are a few that stand out. Last year in a captains choice (or scramble), I hit one 345 on a relatively flat hole. There was a bit of tailwind though. The hole was 430 and we only had 85 yards in.

In regular play, I know I've stepped a few off in the 320 range. Although the one I'm most impressed with this year is a 293 yard drive on #18 at my home course. It's a 418 yard par 4, but extremely up-hill and had only 125 left. Everything felt good about that drive.

I drove a 440 yard hole. It was downhill, with the wind, up in the mountains... But I did it!

I hit one 380 uphill once though. A 17 year old kid I played with last week (who won the local AM qualifying by 6 shots), drove a 402 yard par 4 with no wind. I was a dogleg, so about 350 direct line.

My normal carry distance in UK summer is approx 265 on a pretty spanked one,then theres whatever run i get from there.Regulaly clank it around the 300 mark - and would hope that i average sort of 280 ???? with the driver.

THE longest ive ever hit was in Spain a couple of years ago on a Par 5 at La Finca (Algorfa Golf).It was a par 5,approx 550 yards and the whole hole ran down a pretty sharp hill,which was baked hard in the mid-summer Spain sun.I remember not catching one at-all and having a 3/4 nine iron in to the green for me second.We reckoned from the club in and 150 yard markers that i had 130-135 yards left making the drive 400+ yards.

Not saying i was the man for the job but there was a stream that was perhaps 70 yards short of the green and i reckon that was in range off the tee for a really long hitter - that had to be 450 yards at least,if not 480 yards off the tee !!!!!

It WAS damned hard and downhill.But imagine taking a 3 wood off the tee to "lay-up" short of a stream @ 480 yards.lol

374 at Paako Ridge hole #27 - at 4500 ft altitude, down hill 514 yard par 4 I had 140 left to the flag.

Oh, you mean with a golf club...

No real clue. It's cool when you win something for it, but I just never have kept track. It's not like they engrave the trophy or crystal at a tourney with how far you hit it.

But I haven't even kept track just from normal round to normal round. But I'm almost sure it was off a cliff at Fury Creek.

I've a witness.. 410 yds, measured. It was on a par 5, downwind, a bit downhill too. NAILED my driver ( it was the Wilson Deep Red back then), close to 280 in the air, hit a sprinkler head DEAD ON, ball bounced about 50 yds in the air (and more forward). It was 525 par 5, I had excatly 95 left to the hole

True distance wise .... 363 in LDA Qualifying.

Cutting a corner and all that jazz isn't a true yardage ..... last weekend I hit one up over the trees with a big slinger of a draw. The hole was 520 and I was one step inside the 100 yard marker ... but that doesnt count!!
