Standing on Tee Marker for Aiding a Swing

They have multiple videos on the topic but I can't find the exact one you mention. This one has a pretty good drill.

Rather than chair, let's be a bit more realistic and ask about a bench, like one adjacent to another tee box. If your ball were next to it, are you saying that you couldn't place a foot on that particular immovable obstruction, in taking your stance to play your next shot?

Just as with your previous example with the sprinkler head, there's a difference between "my ball ended up there after I hit it and I have to play it where it lies" and "I am choosing to tee off here."

Why? Where in the rules does it differentiate?

I agree, that it "feels" as if it should be wrong, but I can't see anything that forbids it in any way...

There are several rules which are different on the tee box, like improving the area of your stance or swing. Or being able to use a tee. :-P

Answer the question.

The Rules don't cover this. I'm leaning heavily toward 1-4.

I have queries in to some guys at the USGA.

I see no problem with it at all.. Say someone has a broken leg and he wants to play in his specially designed wheel chair..  Or better yet someone who doesn't have legs but is gifted enough to be able to hit the golf ball from his chair..

penalizing them would be unfair, unless the ruling bodies feel that they are getting an advantage?

Sorry, but the tee marker is a device. It is a device by which the tournament committee, greenkeeper, or course superintendent inform you that you may not tee your ball forward of that mark! Also, that you may tee your ball 2 club lengths behind that mark.

As to the chair, it's a completely different situation.  Absent a medical need, it's clearly not allowed.  It's also moveable, unlike the tee markers in the OP.

Speaking in practical terms, would it even be possible to make a swing with your foot on the tee marker without moving it? Most tee markers I've seen aren't heavy and bolted down like a bench or a chair would be.

      Day 22: Hit balls with 7-iron using mevo+ to track dispersion. Was out for a long time after work; 86 balls but the first 50+ were 50% swings focusing on top of backswing feel and then just hitting the ball as a psychic reward. Finished with 20 balls close to full speed. Pretty happy with dispersion and also no horrendous misses. I’m chunking my priority piece out into two separate feels, first and more important is the position/balance at top of backswing which is what I was working on. Once I have that engrained I’ll move to transition part.

      FWIW I never really had issues with the previous generation of Snells. But… I'm not sure I played them a ton, either.

      I know Dean Snell designed the original Pro V along with a couple of other brands tour balls.  How exactly does the Snell ball have problems.  Did he change something in the design or is a manufacturing error since he cannot afford the unlimited R&D budgets of the big manufacturers to iron out flaws

      I've played the Tour in both white and yellow.  They play well and seem to hold up pretty good even when running into trees or cart paths.  Right now, I've been trying them against the Bridgestone Tour B RX ball and I really like both.  The Snell 3.0 looks to be a great update to the issues Snell was running into with the previous generation.
