Yep.  Playing in Wooster, OH Saturday night at a festival of some sort.  Easy show, 90 minute set and we're done early.  Only side effect will be saying 'what' a lot on Sunday due to ringing in my ears!

Hmmm. . .  That's a valid point and that bid ended in failure as well.  Wasn't able to make a birdie all day - if that putt at the end of the video had gone in I would've done this -   So probably a g

Has anyone booked any of the rooms?   I will need to cancel by Thursday to make sure I don't get charged.

I called the hotel to do this. They told me that they have been put on hold and all we have to do is show up and they will use our credit cards for the payments. You might want to call and confirm what their policy actually is because what you are saying is contrary to what I was told on the phone.

I booked a separate room for @georgep and myself. I didn't want to take one of the blocked rooms. See @saevel25's message above, though, to be sure you aren't charged for unused rooms (or used rooms, instead of the occupants being charged :-D).

That may just be for the rooms reserved. If there are unused rooms Rob shouldn't be billed.

Updated list, and I added a 17th spot because - ideally - if we can get 16 players, then two nice things happen:

  • George will get to play for a prize (otherwise he's stuck with me and wouldn't be eligible to win prizes except MVP).
  • I can drive around and spend time with ALL players, which I'd really like to do.

I've updated my handicap to "NC" for "non-competing," added @voodoo, and added @macdaddy18's handicap index.

So...we should probably post here who is planning on staying in which rooms, so that @Rob Thompson knows how many rooms to cancel and how many to keep by Thursday.
 
FWIW, I'll be staying at a Hilton property close by since I'm a ***** for travel points.

Just show up and pay according to those who have called. But no harm in making a 2 min call either for your peace of mind.

Looking forward to seeing everybody Saturday... :-)

      Several years ago I got paired with a twosome of golfers, one of which had a maybe 5-year-old son with him. The kid had a putter and a 7i with him, and on some holes he would drop a ball near the green, chip on, and putt. If the kid started to get distracted, the dad would ask, "Do you need to rest?" The kid would nod yes, and then take his dad's seat riding in the cart for a couple of holes. It was a slow day, and the kid was polite and friendly. We got through 18 just fine. (If it had been a crowded course day, I'm sure it would have been less pleasant.)

      Caution for the seniors on weight training: Listen to your body. (I'm 75) I got a recent session with an orthopedist after a training-related injury. I put too much weight on a new resistance machine at the gym and ended up with bursitis in my left hip. Of course, it's the hip I dislocated back in 2023. I have my first physical therapy session tomorrow. I remarked that some days I can do 45 lbs. chest press - two sets - without much effort. But other days it drops down to 30 (😩) with just one set. (Complicating factor: I had digestive problems in this fall and lost about 20 lbs., with slip in muscle tone.) Orthopedist said that I want to feel some resistence, but that I should go with lots of reps with manageable weights rather than trying to set some sort of lift-pound record. I'm sure I'll get some refinements on lifting during tomorrow's PT.
