Underwear for golfing?

I have some UA shirts and they are wonderful. They're like wearing air! Yet, when it comes to my "boys", I have a hard time pulling the trigger on such an expense. I suppose I should treat my boys better!

Lululemon are the best I've ever had hands down.  A cheaper, yet still expensive alternative are the UnderArmor boxer/briefs.  You can find them online for $25 (American).  In my opinion, even if you splurge for one nice pair...it's well worth the comfort on the course.

I found some pretty cheap boxer briefs I like from Russell, lightweight cloth for the legs and rear areas with a sort of jersey mess style cloth in the crotch area. They also have a rather significant waist band on them. Probably the best ones I've found for hot weather.

I just picked up some Hanes moisture wicking boxer briefs.  They were $20 for a pack of 2 and they seem to work pretty well.  Oh, and as someone said prior, Gold Bond, generous amounts of Gold Bond!

Why do you sweat less wearing Under Armour compression clothing?  Being a heavy sweater in Florida I would be willing to try anything that helps me sweat less. I've never liked those briefs that hug your nuts down the legs a bit because typically they bunch up on me but if these don't and reduce sweating I would be interested. 

Loved your typo by the way. Don't we have a thread for awesome ones like that to be immortalized?

The heat from your body will drive sweat through the material without trapping it and keeping the path to evaporation more open than a saturated cotton garment that can no longer 'breathe'. It's not like wearing portable air conditioning, but it does make a noticeable comfort difference.

That's it in a nutshell. Some of the modern fabrics are amazing. The sweat goes out, the air comes in, you stay dry and cool. In reverse, the sweat goes out, the heat stays in. This is how UA Cold Gear works. My buddy was a big non-believer until he started working in the gas rig drilling support business. Out there in all kinds of weather, especially the over night cold in the Winter. Some guys he worked with clued him in, and he bought a pair on sale from Cabela's.

He was a believer as soon as he started wearing them! He will wear nothing else now!

I'll have to check out the link natureboy provided. The best I've been able to find locally is $28 for 2 pair. Kinda pricey, but I do get tired of having my shorts glued to my butt cheeks every time I stand up!

A cheaper solution that I'm fond of on hot or humid days is baby powder. Spread it between your cheeks and around your grundle to prevent chafing. It makes any pair of underwear much more comfortable.

The ultimate is a layer of that anti-chafe stuff followed by a baby powder dusting.

Yes. As David Feherty says, "Tis the Gold Bond season!" Powders do help, but they seem to "wear out" after a while, especially with some of the humidity we've been having lately. Today was absolutely insufferable! BTW, do they even have humidity in Colorado?

FWIW I stopped by KMart today and found Hanes X-Temp boxer briefs. Lightweight performance fabric, moisture wicking. I'm wearing a pair sitting here at the computer (I know that's a visual you didn't need), and I am completely comfortable despite the fact that the dew point is in the tropical range. They had bonus packs with 4 pair for $14.50!

Recently it's been borderline unbearable for me, meaning it's risen over 50% during the day. Otherwise, not really.
