I rarely practice besides hitting balls and putting. My practice comes on an empty course.

In my bag:

Taylormade R11S Driver
Taylormade RBZ 3-wood
Nike VRS Irons 4-9
SM4 Titleist Vokey Wedges 47, 54, 58
College freshman playing golf at Wabash College in Indiana!

I'm playing more and practicing less.  Or you could say I practice live.  The thing I need the most work on is waiting 5, 6, 7 minutes between swings and I don't have the patience to do that on the range.  Also, it only counts if it counts.

In der bag:
Cleveland Hi-Bore driver, Maltby 5 wood, Maltby hybrid, Maltby irons and wedges (23 to 50) Vokey 59/07, Cleveland Niblick (LH-42), and a Maltby mallet putter.                                                                                                                                                 "When the going gets tough...it's tough to get going."

I don't even know when the last time I went to the driving range. I play three times a week and that is enough golf for me. When I was a single digit I practiced a minimum or three or more times a week. Now I don't even post my scores and obviously don't have a handicap. I play for the exercise and spending time outdoors in a nice environment.

No practice here. But about to start chipping and putting after work when the weather gets warmer next weeks to prepare myself for a Mid-Amateur 3-day Tournament in Argentina on September.

Not nearly enough... Maybe once a week of actual practice where I am specifically working on certain parts of my game.

I started reading your post and wondered what you could be thinking, talking about when the weather gets warmer. Then I saw you are in Argentina, where it is now your Winter.

One of the reasons I haven't practiced much this year is the unrelenting hot and humid weather we've had. Just going outside is a chore, and standing in the sun while your brains parboil in your skull is not attractive to me. If I'm going to do that, I'd rather play!

Right now never haven't touched a club in a while. Haven't posted a score in a couple months. Not sure if my clubs are home or at work to be honest. If it doesn't rain I may get out Sunday.

This year has been pretty bad.  No practice and not much play.  It's been over a month since I last played.  Too many business trips.

Married for 32 years. But my wife plays Saturday and Sunday too, and ladies night is Wednesday, she sometimes plays 18 before that,  the only time I'm there on my own is Friday. Some guys hate that their wife plays, but I love it.  Did I mention, we spent two weeks in Ireland recently, played 8 rounds of golf.

I'm with Dave, I also love that my wife loves to play.  So with my kids in college, I play golf pretty much every day.   We play couples almost every Friday, plus Sunday on the weekend and once during the week.  She works more than me, so she doesn't get to play golf as much.  It's also great that when we go on trips, everything resolves around golf.   In fact we played golf the morning of our wedding.

We once played 11 rounds of golf in 10 days, 36 holes twice. In fact, she gave up going to the Marine Room in La Jolla in order to play another round of golf.

As for practice I generally just play after work, don't have time to hit balls but will hit balls frequently on the weekend as I can allow for more time before my tee time.

1 hour at the range every morning at 6am and 2 rounds on the weekend. I finally gave up digging it out of the dirt 6 weeks ago and hired a new pro. Once the muscle memory is ingrained I'll cut my practice down to every other day.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
