Walked 10 holes after work, shot 9 over. Drives were crap, but I've been messing with them on the range, so that wasn't a surprise. Used the 3/4 flighted shot on several approaches, really like it. Focused on enjoying the course and making a good hip turn. Not much else. ;-)

Played 18 today.  It wasn't perfect but I was very happy with the progress I've made.  Was a bit sloppy at the beginning and end but had a stretch of 11 very good holes.

Fairways and Greens.

Went to trafford centre last night so whacked 150 balls on the driving range there, not bad if I do say so myself.

Today went to driving range near place I am working and hit 50'odd but was fffffffreezing so that's the excuse I'm gonna trot out for topping balls all over the show.....

1/26: 20 minutes reviewing latest Evolvr lesson. Keep going with backswing and left wrist, but improvement. Add thoughts about right elbow not flying as much. Keep elbows closer- use ball technique. 5 minutes slow deliberate backswings with flat left wrist and right elbow staying close. Then few minutes athletically at slightly faster speed.

Working on A2 to A3 with a mirror. Trying to keep my legs a bit straighter and the body bent better at the hips while reducing the pressure around the lumbar through "relaxation" drills while in position. Still figuring out the proper amount of "C" versus "S". There's a "straightness" that seems pretty optimal, but I'm not sure this is the least restrictive position or not?

30 min

sklz swing trainer. Get timing, feel lag and avoid casting. My spine and back cracks as I warm up, generally as I lag the club with hands being drawn thru hitting zone

7 iron. Feet together, brush strokes around the body, Y and L swings with wrists loose and lagging club from inside,

pump drill on full swing

added full swings with no pump to see how I am doing on casting. Mixed results

same drill with driver, brush, Y and L swings. Full swings with pump  drill and then without. Feel lag more with driver than 7 iron

booked next class with pro for Feb 11. Hopefully, i will have made progress. Will do a video check this week at the range

1/26: I realized that as much as I've committed to slow-mo swings, repeating drills over and over, and practicing properly, that I generally don't make it through more than 4 or 5 reps before I have to hit a ball.

Tonight I worked on slow backswings, pausing at the top to feel good turn and flat left wrist, coming down to A6 and pausing to check hands and weight, then a nice easy follow through pointing belt buckle out and up towards target and holding the finish for a second. Forced myself to do 30 reps without hitting a shot. Then I hit about 20 shots just to get it out of my system, and finished up with another 20 reps before two final full shots for fun (they were perfect, btw).

A little while later I practiced pitching for a bit. Hit about 20 shots or so. I'm decent at it, but I don't get anywhere near the extremely shallow path demonstrated in the quickie pitching video post. Have re-watched that video a few times lately and the "paintbrush" motion mentioned in it seemed to click this last time. I've been practicing off my stance mat (thin rug over hard dirt). I barely feel them and the shots just pop up in the air every time. Very promising.

Stack System’s marketing materials inflate apparent swing speed and distance gains through selective presentment of data without qualification that purported gains are not the result, in whole or part, of its training protocol and products. * Yes, I'm joking about abbreviating both "SS." SuperSpeed wants: A judgment that the Stack System has disseminated false and/or misleading information in violation of federal and Illinois law. The deletion of all false advertising distributed and recall of all packaging containing false advertising and a requirement that Stack System issue notices (written or otherwise) to that effect to all current distributors and retailers of its products and all distributors with whom Stack System has done business in the past eighteen months. Written confirmation within 30 days of an injunction detailing the manner and form in which Stack System has complied. An order that Stack System disseminate corrective advertising informing consumers, the trade, and the public of Stack System’s unlawful conduct. 3X all profits received by Stack System as a result of its unlawful actions. 3X all damages sustained by SuperSpeed (as a result of Stack System’s actions) The cost of the action All reasonable attorney fees All other relief to which SuperSpeed are entitled and such other or additional relief as just and proper. Oy.
    • I'm not doing this for the hundred and twentieth time. Sorry in advance, but you get the massively abridged version. Those guys also benefited from the weaker/shallower fields. Also, Watson's career doesn't overlap with Jack's like many think it did. Tom is nearly a decade younger. Jack won only like four majors only after Tom won his first. And Tom won more British Opens than he did all three of the other majors combined, as it was his specialty (not Jack's). Arnie's career similarly doesn't overlap Jack's as much as many think.   Jack would also tell you Tiger was the better golfer.
    • Weaker depth of fields for sure. Some of the top level guys with Jack were pretty awesome. Tom Watson had the lead on the 72nd hole of the 2009 British Open, an event where Tiger missed the cut. Old Tom was almost 60 years old. Jack himself at age 58 finished Top 10 at The 1998 Masters and scored better than Tiger, who won The Masters by 12 shots just a year before that.   The success of both Tom & Jack in older age gives some hope that maybe Tiger can find the magic again at some point. He’s still trying to figure out how to build the stamina for 72 holes after the leg injury. I would love to see him jump on the leaderboard in the coming years. I know a lot of people have given up on him at this point, but that was also true from 2014 to 2017 with the back injuries. He had a hell of a resurgence in 2018 & 2019. Would be fun to see it again.
    • Perceptive rules question by caddie unlocks Tour pro’s ‘dead zone’ relief A perceptive rules question by Xander Schauffele’s caddie, Austin Kaiser, unlocked “dead zone” relief during the Wells Fargo Championship.
    • I ran across an interesting new clip, Johnson Wagner went into that spot with the Referee who allowed the relief.  Apparently there was a perfectly reasonable shot to be made, as Johnson clearly demonstrated, so relief from the TIO was perfectly appropriate.
