Have you tried the Kirkland, Vice or Sneed golfballs?

All three balls have been discussed and they are in threads which are a simple search.

Oh, welcome to TST... ;-)

Sorry, @TerryG, I was in a store and multitasking earlier. I linked to a thread about Vice balls up above. I haven't played any of the 3 you mentioned, but the Kirkland is getting solid reviews from members of this site. You might want to take a look a Snell golf balls too. Seems like Kirkland is definitely best bang for the buck though.

I have played Snell Get Sum and the Kirkland.   There is a difference between them.  I found the cheaper Snell  not to my liking.   I do like the Kirkland.   I have not played the Vice.

One ball I'm eager to try is the Volvik.

I found a Vice ball and played it for a few holes.  It wasn't bad, but... then again, I've been playing the TaylorMade Project (a) ball for almost 3 years now, so... I don't exactly use a high end ball.

I received a sleeve of the Volvik Vivid balls (orange, matte finish) in the mail and took them out for a round.  I didn't mind the ball, but it seemed shorter off the tee to me... and I didn't like the finish.  It made it extremely difficult to keep the ball clean.  I did, however, like the look of the orange ball against the sky when in flight.

I'm looking forward to trying a Kirkland ball, but at this point, I have 13+ dozen new Project (a) balls upstairs after receiving a bunch for Christmas and purchasing a bunch using some tournament winnings earlier in the year, so... I may not be buying any balls for awhile.

The Snell My Tour Ball is my favorite ball, by far. It's so, so good.

I like Volvik a lot, too. The ball itself looks kind of weird (almost like it has a very thin shell, or something) but it feels good on the face.

I agree, I really like the Snell: My Tour Ball. I didn't like Volvik much.

I tested out some volviks. I can't seem to find the reviews anymore. Might have been lost when we transferred over to the new website?

Anyway the ultra white ones, can't recall the name, were nice.

I had a MTB forever this year that played pretty nice. I just didn't care for the finish on the ball but it didn't affect the play. Played very short stints with the Vice ball, lost right away and really didn't get to see it's performance. Had 2 Volvic S3's, was able to play one for a while and had reasonable performance. I don't think you can go too wrong with any of them.

    • I agree with @pganapathy about removing some clubs. I would recommend removing the 2, 3, 4 and 5 irons for now. Play with Driver 3W 5W 3H 5H 6 iron 7 iron 8 iron 9 iron PW ( you don’t have listed) 52 56 Putter Th 60 wedge can be difficult for new players, but you could keep that If your 3H is adjustable, increased the loft to be more like a 4H. Play with these on course and see if you can get a feel of the actual yardages for each club and especially the gaps between them. It may take 10 or more rounds. A par 3 course is helpful for determining the gaps in the irons and some woods too. A device like a Shot Scope H4 can really help give you your actual yardage on course.
