So reddit is really angry at this. I can think of at least one thing being deposited in the hole that really merits getting really angry. Yeah, this sucks, but save your wrath because there are a lot worse things that can happen.

could be worse. Consider the remote possibility of methane gas building up in a drainage pipe. Some idiot puts a cigarette down the holes.  KA Boom!  Caddy Shack all over again.

Playing over 40 years, and working at courses, changing many cups, I don't think I've ever seen this.

Same here. I've found frogs, toads, small snakes and a condom. No cig butts though

My guess is the grounds crew was using it as an ashtray before they stuck it in the ground.

I have to watch when I sit on the course benches, people tend to extinguish stogies there.

I've never noticed cig butts in the cup. I have seen plenty of cigar butts strewn around the greens. It's pretty disgusting. Why?????

It's like a dog pissing on his territory?

Same here, I've never seen this in almost 40 years of playing and I've played some dog tracks in my day.

Not usually a problem even on my munis and the hacks that play it. There was one occasion where someone left a turd in a hole over on the Falcon (our par 3). Pretty sure it was human.

    • Day 107 - More pitching practice, playing around with trajectory.
    • Yea Club Rat said it. I really enjoyed the Senator and the Judge, then over to Grand National where there a couple good courses plus a fun par 3. The one I do play whenever I visit there is Ross Bridge; something about this course that is just good fun. I hope to play more of the courses in the future, but tomorrow is promised to no one, so hope is the key word. Have Fun, iSank

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? How many of these names do you recognize? A few, for sure. I assure y'all, I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios. I just don't get what the point is. Okay. I get that, then. Thanks.
    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
