Well that's true....but Tiger was young and flexible once too. It just seems that's an awful lot of tension on her lumbar spine. Stance looks so wide. Amazing that's comfortable to her.

Does she actually not rotate her pelvis at all in the bs? I saw a slow-mo in the last tournament and didn't see any hip turn? How can her back take this?

Whatever hip turn there is it's minimal. It definitely looks hard on her body (though she is flexible) but regardless it just looks silly. Nothing like this when she was younger.

I wonder why she chose to swing like that? I forgot who her swing coach is but I would imagine that was an interesting conversation. I suppose performing a 'normal' hip turn was giving her problems....I agree with you though...looks silly.

She didn't have hip injuries until the last year or two or three…

:-O How many swing changes has she gone through? Seems like that's going under the radar?

I really want to blame LeadPoison for this, but I don't think even he would recommend this. I think she is off the reservation with this swing.

Michele, like many,  thinks technique is the key to skill.  It's such an easy trap of thinking.

people think things like well I am across the line and fixing it will make me hit more consistently.

If this thinking were correct all greats would have almost identical technique.

jmo but skill matters more and some athletes will always be better than others regardless of technique.

I had a career in my younger days where I fell victim to what these athletes go through so I know about it.

I could execute multiple techniques proficiently.  What I found limited me was not the technique but my inherent talent level.

many don't see it but as you move from saying being the best in high school to college/minor   Leagues/pro you run into a different caliber of athlete.

most people are unaware of this fact.  Everyone has a talent ceiling/best skill level.

imo technique is not the driver of this truth.

She's nuts, Leadbetter all but said she doesn't listen to training, which is obvious, no friggin' way would any coach teach her to swing like that, is that a 48" shaft? looks like a fishing rod.

She has been doing well in her tournaments recently including today.  She seems she is constantly puttering around.  I cannot see her maintain good health through a whole season.  She seems so fragile and the stress on the back will take its toll. Good Luck Wish her well.  LPGA can use her.  She draws ratings and crowds.

Yea I never got the tabletop. She looked so uncomfortable. I get when you are trying to improve you'll try some wierd stuff, but she looked awkward and off balance. She was better off picking her line, walking up to the ball and in under 3 seconds stroking it.

Glad to see she looks more comfortable now. The LPGA needs her back on top.

Another example of an athlete who got too much thrown at them at a very young age.  She has all of the talent in the world, but just never seemed happy playing the game and had too much pressure thrown on her shoulders.

Have no clue what the heck she has done to her swing over time and especially now.  Everything about her evolution as a world class golfer has been a head scratcher.  Never will understand someone as naturally gifted as she is making the amount of radical changes to their game.   Same for Tiger. In his case he won a lot after the changes, but when it is all said and done, you just wonder what could have been if they stuck to what got them there to begin with.

A sad day for male viewers...

LOL!  She is fun to watch...

i see her as overthinking it. But, she also seems to be contending more...

Custom fit RBZ irons. Taylormade RBZ driver. Some crappy old high-bounce Macgregor wedge and an even older Mizuno 5 wood. Haven't settled on a ball yet - still looking. Decades of football, weightlifting and boxing came together to create the world's worst golfer. I'm slowly correcting that now.
