In the Golf Channel piece, she's quoted saying she spent a lot of time Googling all sorts of claw grips. Lol'd at mental image of this. Did you hear that? That was Wie's back saying... thank you!

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

2016 was a disaster for Wie. She missed more cuts than she made. And she started this season with another missed cut in the Bahamas. I'm not sure this putting change is going to make much of a difference. But when your game is in the toilet, I guess you need to try something new.

Makes sense.

To be clear, too, those are her ranks on the LPGA Tour. Hit a lot of greens and you rank lower in "Putts per Green," for example. It's not the best stat.

But when you drop that much, it's likely not all attributable to a change in ballstriking. :-P

T4 and led through 3 rounds in the tournament that just finished.

Hate her current driver swing though.

I've been watching a little this weekend - her putting stroke is new but it wasn't like in the insta in the OP.  She does that amateur style grip (that I used to use) where she holds it normally but sticks her right index finger straight down the back of the shaft.

She was also bent over way less than table top but more than the above, and she had her elbows out awkwardly.

She played well though, so we'll see. :)

The elbows were weirdly out, yeah…

:-O How many swing changes has she gone through? Seems like that's going under the radar?

It's like she's trying to make the golf swing harder. WTF is she doing? It's ridiculous.

That address position really looks odd.  Way too wide of a stance.

Does she actually not rotate her pelvis at all in the bs? I saw a slow-mo in the last tournament and didn't see any hip turn? How can her back take this?

She's young, female, and flexible. And barely gets (or maybe doesn't) 90°…
