A chip off on the 18th green. Now that would be fun...(for the fans at least)

Maybe this was mentioned during the telecast and I'm not reading any sports pieces, but totally forgot the parallels between Rose and Garcia. Rose had that promising finish in 1998, struggled, lost his card I think, toiled in the minor league (I think), people doubted his decision to turn pro so young but he worked his way back to the Euro Tour then PGA Tour and won his first major 15 years later. So not only do they have the RC in common, but know the burden of front loaded expectations.

I actually followed Justin play in a european challenge tour event after he had lost his full euro card after all those missed cuts. He was smiling as ever, always gracious, a total gent.

I think the sudden death playoff method at the Masters is perfect and I hope they don't ever change it. That said, I also like that the majors do not all have the same playoff method -- it gives each one a unique flavor.

What, y'all want it like Wimbledon where the final set can go to 70-68 and it becomes a war of attrition and stamina? :-D

I agree with your chuckle on that. They've been doing the sudden death format at the Masters for about 40 years and it has never lasted longer than 2 holes.

They didn't do anything like what you suggested.

    • Yep, I almost flagged an 8 iron just exaggerating my right elbow backswing stuff 🤣 I am sure I might get some stalling. Maybe the sequence is a bit out of sync. I also tend to flip more when I overswing. Doing really good. It’s rejuvenated me a bit. I’m going to start weight lifting soon.
    • However 2.1b says re GP scores 2.1b ii) General Play. When an organized competition is not being contested, a score is not generally acceptable for handicap purposes if the player: * Breaches the Rules of Golf, and the correct penalty is not applied under the Rules of Golf, or * Deliberately ignores a Rule of Golf. Where a player follows the provisions set down in a Model Local Rule, even when the Committee in charge of the course has not adopted that Model Local Rule, the score may still be acceptable for handicap purposes.
    • CONGU – who control handicapping in Great Britain and Ireland – affirmed the Local Rule could not be used in any qualifying competitions or general play scores. That’s any event where handicap marks could be affected.
    • I think you are spot on.  Seems like every survey I read about playing golf in the US says that the biggest issue here is pace of play. Anything that can help pace of play feels like a good idea.
    • Just checking.  Are you healthy again? I seem to remember you going through some injury issues. Are all of those behind you now? Or are you still doing PT?
