Really after looking at the course tour on the web page, the length of the course doesn't seem to be the bigger problem for me to worry about. It looks a bit tight. Definitely tougher than the munis I normally play. When I hear about OB on several holes in a row, my butt puckers a bit.

You can get mental looking at the online propaganda. I'll just take it as it comes.

It's not particularly tight (with the exception of a couple of the newer holes), but the greens will test you if they are running.

Well I'm not quite sure what form my game will be in come Saturday, but still will be nice to get out and meet you guys.

I was spraying it around quite a bit off the tee yesterday with a couple of wicked slices that would make it really tough to score well on a 6500 yd course, so hopefully a few range sessions this week can get that straightened out.

As of right now, weather forecast looks good, looking like low 80s for Saturday.

I think the most updated list I saw had 6 people total that had committed for Saturday, is that still accurate or is there going to be more?

We might pick up a couple more, but it looks like it will likely be two groups each day. (Some of my golf trip buds are going to play Sunday).

if you know someone who would like to join us, chime in asap.

Count me in. If it ends up being a really rough night, I may be late...so just put me in the last group if that happens lol

    • I’d go with the Titleist if you liked the look of the blades but were suffering with distance. They should be a little more forgiving than a full blade and still retain some workability. Also remember to consider the shafts each have as this will be a big contributor to how they feel. Clemsonfan is right though… get fit or spend a bit of time on a launch monitor 🤙
    • Day 28: 2026.01.30 Managed to make time for a few swings out back today. Need a proper bit of range time this weekend.
    • Day 30, 1/30.  Six minutes this morning hitting a few more range balls, indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Did this before leaving the house.

    • Hi All my New Year’s resolution was to start playing golf again. I’ve caught the bug and am really enjoying hitting balls at a couple of my local ranges.looking forward to getting back out on courses in the spring. Based in the UK and 38 years old, I’ve been playing since I was a kid. Best handicap I’ve held is 2 in my mid 20s. Over the past 10 years I’ve played once or twice a year, sometimes with friends or for work. Could shoot 4-5 over, but just as easily shoot 15-20 over. I’ve moved to South Wales and am very lucky to be near some world class links courses, which gives me even more motivation to get playing again! I will start looking for a local coach in my area when I have more time to invest, but I recalled scouring this forum a few years ago and finding some good tips and advice so wanted to give it a try to see if there were any glaring issues I could fix in the meantime!  A few swings below… one from 1st week Jan and one from today. I have fixed my P1 takeaway to my liking and am now working on what I see as pretty severe early extension & hip thrust. Also terrible hip rotation. I’d like confirmation that this is indeed a problem and and suggestions on a few good drills. Thanks for reading 🙂 I've been Playing Golf for: 30+ years My current handicap index or average score is: 10ish over My typical ball flight is: mid The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: push right with irons, hooks and push with driver!  Videos:
