I think this is cool; I'd love to see the PGA incorporate more short holes when possible.

Everyone would hit it inside 8' and make birdies ;-)

Did you see the width of the green near the pin?   I doubt they averaged par yesterday.

Great idea. Kudos to those that set it up like this. A 'feel' sort of distance.

I'm joking of course. The median player on the PGA Tour this year averaged about 17' to the pin from 50-75 yards.

Love short holes like that. There's a reason some of the most famous par 3s in golf are short holes (e.g., Postage Stamp, 7 at Pebble).

This a refreshing change of pace.  How long does that hole play normally?

Bridgestone j40 445 w/ Graphite Design AD DJ-7
Callaway Steelhead Plus 3 wood w/ RCH Pro Series 3.2
Adams Idea Pro hybrids (3 & 4) w/ Aldila VS Proto
Bridgestone j33 CB (5-PW) w/ original Rifle 5.5
Bridgestone West Coast 52*, j40 satin 56* & 60* w/ DG S-300
Odyssey White Hot XG #9
Bridgestone B330-RX

Yes! Tiny par 3's and "driveable" par 4's! Where many, many pros shoot bogey! I played Spyglass Hill quite a few years ago, and I remember a par 3 well under 100 yards and downhill to boot! I opened up the face of my wedge and took an easy pass at it. I still wound up above the hole, and I was totally screwed from there!

This week I played the par 3 course Threetops in Gaylord, MI.   For a number of years, Threetops hosted the ESPN Par 3 Shootout. It was a lot of fun to play the short holes and the elevation changes on some of the holes was impressive.  Hole

I like to see the pros challenged with a short par 3.
