3 reps with a minute pause in between full swing reps with a couple less aggressive warmup reps. Stretching hamstrings. Working on slow movements through the transition. Tai Chi slow with weight shift incorporated into movement. Also keeping the lead wrist well pronated. Full coil backswing, lead arm straight getting past parallel. I have to focus on retaining the C-spine posture. Used a roller to work the upper back/shoulders, lats, glutes and calve muscles. Using a swing sequencing version 3 club simulator with a swing speed radar to do the above. will be using this from now on with or without SS monitor.

Wow, too sore from yesterday’s mega range session before the heavy rains...My 3 reps was more like 3 anemic warmups. Speed was 4% low. :-P

Morning weight 199.6, finally broke 200! Goal is 185 if possible...

Day 345:

Did my first move down drill, without a club, in front of the mirror for about 7 minutes. My main small success I was trying to feel was leading the downswing with my arms. Yes, at full speed body is quick, but getting the feeling that the hands, arms, shoulders, and hips are in sync is important.

Just 20 days to 1 year.

Day 39 - Range work today. Focused on hip and shoulder turn and pitch elbow feel. I can feel the lag at transition too.

11/3/18 - Had a very short range session this morning, just to get some feels back when hitting balls. Now spent about 30 minutes rolling putts on the mat and checking setup in the mirror. Setup mostly good, but pushing ball position a little further forward has made a good difference to start line.

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

DAY 101    Spent two hours on the range cleaning up my downswing sequence... which got tested and did okay in the last four rounds.   The spent 90 minutes on the putting green practicing 3 foot putts while focusing on my clubhead path -- my miss is that I tend to close it to quickly and pull putts.   Both were good sessions.

Day 70

Went to the practice area for some putting maintenance with the new putter.

Ran into some friends, and wound up playing the back 9 with them. Focus was just having some fun with friends. Did shoot an easy 41.

Putted OK, but there is plenty of room for improvement with this industrial strength "Heavy Putter".

Day 70

Hit about 25 balls working on impact. I took about a third of a backswing and worked on weight shit turn and strike.

Spent about 20 minutes putting, working on a longer balanced stroke and improved impact conditions.

Day 38

practiced on wedge shots from the bunker for 50 minutes. sand is a little wet and not fluffy like normal. used 54 degree sand wedge to get out from 3 different spots of the bunker (front, middle, and back). up close was easy, but middle and back really gave me a hard time. I guess I am getting cute with it and just need to blast out of the sand. plugged a few balls in the sand and tried to get those out, what a pain in wet sand, bladed most most them. going to work in the sand again when it is dry.

Morning weight 199.9. Ate Korean BBQ last night, but stuck with meats and salad. The dressing in the salad had a little sugar. Going to have to be more strict.

We’re looking at scheduling in hikes twice a week.

Day 71

Up early this morning. Easy practice session of swinging my Kallassy club off, and on for 15 minutes, or so. Focus was on just losening up the swing muscles, with a good turn of other body parts.

I'll be swinging a single jack in a bit, for a yard renovation. That might help some of those swing muscles....lol

Day 38 - March 12, 2018 - Sometimes I'm amazed at how quickly five minutes goes by.

Five minutes with a five-iron today. Just worrying about the backswing again - bending the right elbow sooner, letting it come off my ribs a little. Not worrying too much about "palm out" on the downswing (though when I super exaggerated it, I shanked a bunch in a row, partly because I was demonstrating to a college kid who nearly quit golf the year before I helped him finish second in our conference championship because he delivered the club from so far inside that he shanked one out of every five to ten irons).

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
