Day 489: Worked on some small changes from my Evolvr lesson with Erik. Trying to adjust path a bit with the driver with a little more flattening of the shaft in transition, with palmar flexion and rolling of the left forearm or combination of the above. Flight has been pushes or push fade lately at the range. I can play that, but there has been some inconsistencies. Filmed the session. There was some progress.

Hit balls after a GEARS session with a student (and member) while waiting for the database to upload to Dropbox.

Day 70 (17 Feb 22) - Layup day as the left foot definitely has skin breakdown on the bottom of the left foot.  Anyway, managed to get out in the yard this afternoon for a few easy chips with the 9i.  Worked again on keeping the arms non-collapsing and the torso turning.  Becoming more and more "natural" in making it happen.

Day 54:

Had a great practice session today. I only hit irons. Mostly 6-irons, but I sprinkled in other irons as well. I stuck with the two things I've been working on. One of them is a kind of footwork thing. Seems to cure a lot of what ails me. The other is more of a get to this position in the backswing kind of thing. When I do it right in creates "effortless power"... Naw, I'm full of shit. It does create more power in my strikes with less or at worst the same amount of effort. Started to feel the change today. ... At least I hope so. Perhaps I'm conning myself... we shall see tomorrow. Golf can be a sexy mistress, but also a fickle bitch and the hitting mat is her favorite bar.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 33:

Kids were with grandparents after school, so was going to get in a good session with Mevo+ in perfect daylight, but it needed to be charged. So did some work with 6-iron, and then later went inside and did about 20 minutes of backswing practice with LVP camera.

Day 44: Did mirror work today. Checking set up - knees bent and hips over heels. Looked good. Did a little bit on the backswing, making sure my path still looks good.

Day 55: 02/18/2022

Kids have the day off school today, so I took the day off work. We are going to spend the day together. So, I got my practice in early today.

I did about 5 minutes of mirror work. Basically the same drills I'd do with a ball, but only without one. So my footwork drill, which I actually think is helping a lot. Then my turn position drill. (If I can get time today I will hit balls. We shall see.)

I also did the ladder drill. I chipped from 6, 12, and 18 feet, 4 times each with the 60 and the 54 degree wedges.

Finally, I putted. Only bead work as usual. 6 footers. My favorite putting drills = Day 15 of the 30 day Covid-19 challenge.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 118 - More putting practice and wedge backswing position in front of a mirror.

I'm spend a lot of time on putting practice after deciding to use David Edel's "claw" method. Trying to really ingrain what is a change in mechanics before taking it to an actual putting green, probably in about a month.

Day 110, February 18, 2022

Did a little work with balls and a shorter, weighted club in the basement today while rendering out some video. Multiple times, 45 seconds at a time.

Day 71 (18 Feb 22) - spent some time working with the 58, shag bag of balls, the 20yd pin and working on chips and pitches.  Limited swings as the foot is still needing to heal.  Kept the focus on getting my rotation happening and not flipping.  Wanted to get as many as possible in the circle of close (today it was about a 10’ circle). Did okay, had about 80% inside (or 80 out 100 balls).

Day 119 - Read @mvmac's thread from a few years ago on hitting flighted wedges and short irons, then practiced the setup and swing (inside so no ball). Will take this to Trackman in the next week or so to determine distances.

Hit 30 consecutive 5' putts on my PuttOUT mat.

Day 491: We had every weather condition today, sun, clouds, wind rain and snow! Everything but warmth. Too windy and cold to practice outside today. I did do some backswing and set up work. focused on having the turn lift the left heel.

Not allowed to back date, but I've practiced 3 days in a row now (having not played at all for about a year), so let's make today day 1.

45 mins at the range hitting 80% pitching wedges.  Was comparing two clubs to see which I liked best, and trying to keep a consistent shape (push draw), which I would say I managed most of the time.

I also did some 50 yard pitches, and then played a few holes on the virtual golf game.

    • Day 162 - More pitching work, really focusing on letting the club fall and turning my body.
    • Our home course would be very interesting.  It is short from the black tees (around 6000 yards) and very few holes are considered not reachable in GIR for golfers who drive max 250 off the tee.  But there are two difficulties.  Only 3 holes don't have an OB though admittedly in some cases it is just behind the green.  The harder part is almost all the fairways slope away on both sides from the centre meaning if you hit a draw or fade, you are likely to wind up at the edge of the fairway or off into the rough if you bounce in the wrong place.
    • I assume the 3 iron in your iron set would do the job.  If you don't have the club, you should be able to buy it as a single club
    • Day 45 (16 Jun 24) -  Happy Father's Day all - got in a few swings with the clubs, focused on alignment for chipping and pitching.  For me if the target it 12noon, I need to have my feet somewhere around 11 for a solid dead on line pitch/chip.  Worked from about 5yds out to 25yds.  Worked through a series of clubs - 54, PW, 8i and 6i - noting flight patterns of each.
