Hi TST,

I'm searching for new grips, can't just find what I'm searching for.

I currently play the Golfpride Neon grips but I don't like them that much specially in wet or warm conditions.

To bad in the Netherlands we get a few rainy days.

I'm not a fan of the Multicompound grips. 

Any ideas?

Lamkin Crossline has always been my go-to, and for the money hard to beat.

I actually am becoming a fan of the multi-compound, at least on my driver.

The Golf Pride Tour Velvet came on my last set of irons, and I like that.

Sorry - I do like the GolfPride Multicompounds a LOT. 

next year I might try the Pures too - they seem to advertise a unique type of tackiness I'd like to confirm.

I haven't tried raingloves yet, but that's also on the list.

I buy the Sharpro Multicompound in .58.

They aren't as durable as the golf pride multicompounds but they're a fraction of the price. I get them in bulk for under 4 bucks apiece and I change them regularly.

I really like Iomic grips, made in Japan.  I find that they stay very tacky for a long time, even in the rain.  My second choice are DTX grips from Pure, made in USA.  I'm not sure you can get Iomic grips in The Netherlands, but it appears that Pure is distributed in Europe through a company in Sweden.

I use Iomic sticky grips on my driver and three wood. They're not as harsh as a cord and stay pretty tacky in damp and humid conditions. Cant say how they work for irons since i prefer a cord grip for those.

I stick with inexpensive, black rubber, Lamkin's and Golf Prides, and keep them clean.  That makes more difference, to me, than anything else.  Just scrub them down with warm water every couple of rounds.

One key thing is to buy some extras when you replace a full set. Instead of 13, buy 16 so that when it's time to replace the driver or other clubs that get a lot of use, you won't be looking around for grips to match.

100 grit sand paper can restore an old grip in no time and give the grip a second life. Just fold the sand paper in three to give it some rigidity.

      I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.

      Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
