Shotmakers is a new competition where precision shotmaking meets intense strategy in a fast-paced environment. Premiering Monday, April 9 at 9 p.m. ET, Shotmakers will blend golf, technology and entertainment utilizing Topgolf – a modernized golf experience – as the stage for this competition. Taking place at Topgolf Las Vegas, nine-co-ed teams of two will pair up in head-to-head competitions that will test precision, distance and control, all while challenging their mental toughness and strategic decision-making.

Surrounded by the Topgolf experience in Las Vegas, nine co-ed teams of two will pair up in head-to-head competitions that test precision, distance and control, all while facing intense pressure and strategic decision-making. The 18 competitors include a former PGA TOUR professional, mini-tour professional golfers, an Olympian, former collegiate athletes, a former World No. 1 World Long Drive competitor, a trick-shot artist, decorated military veterans, and champions from the Topgolf Tour.

“Shotmakers is a great opportunity to introduce a progressive approach to golf competition, featuring dynamic personalities from across the sports landscape,” said Phil Piazza, Golf Channel senior vice president of programming. “Shotmakers also will showcase what Topgolf has been doing for 17 years – evolving the narrative around golf and redefining golf participation.”

The competition will utilize Toptracer by Topgolf, the leading technology used on PGA TOUR televised broadcasts that immediately shows players their ball’s flight, speed, distance and curve on screen, as well as the games made popular at the 41 Topgolf venues around the world. Teams will compete for cash and prizes in each competition and will be eliminated until one team is left standing as the champion of Shotmakers.

It's like a golf competition in front of a live studio audience. Looks like it will be fun to watch.

Lot of Big Break type show retreads. Not that I'll mind seeing Christina LeCuyer again.

But… I will record and watch. Looks interesting.

I know the one girl is one of those trust fund Instagram touring pros. It should be entertaining like the Big Break was for awhile. I quit watching the big break a few years ago but it was cool when one of my beer drinking guys won the mesquite edition.

I love this show.

So much depends on every swing - with the TV, scoring, in front of everybody, etc....

I try to put myself in their shoes for some of these shots. Much respect for these players. I wish them all luck.

Go Lighting.

@CCC, you can’t even tell where that ball goes in.

It is the worst show I’ve seen this year.

Huh?

I watched one episode for about 15 minutes.   I didn't see the appeal.    If I was playing, it would be different but to watch...meh...

I attempted to watch this last night, good god awful. I mean I didn't love the big break but I could get through an episode here and there. Shotmakers is unwatchable.

The name isn't even very good. They're not really having to "make shots" at all. Not the way I think of the term.

I thought maybe they'd have things you had to hit over, under, or around. It would be interesting to see, for example, how many balls you could hook around a pole into the 150-yard target in 60 seconds.

This is just a bunch of people aiming for The Trench. :-P

The commentating is awful, the crowd is annoying, its just not very well thought out. It's just people hitting range balls, not very exciting. I think its their belief guys will watch because the girls are good looking.

But they’re bundled up too. So no go there.

I almost said that exact thing, no little golf skirts, they are hitting balls in parkas.

And the crowd yells every time someone hit a ball even if its way offline, so you just know they are liquored up and have no idea whats going on. In their defense you would have to be drunk to actually get through an episode.

This is even worse than the speed golf one.  Another pure commercial attempt trying to hide itself as a competition show.

We're getting a Top Golf in the Twin Cities.  Probably a fun evening, but this show is even making me question that.

BTW - if the game is 'progressive holes' you don't need to tell the guy which section you are hitting to.  Ditto if you own the last 3 shots of 5 after your partner hit the first two.

'Shank' is 41?  that blew my mind, I'd have pegged him upper 50's....

at least the ladies are pretty, especially in the interviews, but I skip the interviews because they are also horrible.

I don't think I'll continue.  I could bounce a tennis ball on the sidewalk for an hour.  Or vacuum.  Or stare at a cracker on a table.

I liked the Big Break - I'd rewatch it if they still had the episodes on the GC archives.  I keep hoping they find something to replace that.....

I watched a little of it last night, and I was totally bored and kept skipping to other channels (coming back at commercials)
I've been to Top Golf once, and it was okay fun. It felt like a combination of league bowling (due to table service for drinks and food) and hitting range balls.
They should have a robot ball cart out collecting balls that don't fall into the targets, and you get bonus points for hitting it .... just like at the range.

Players play, tough players win!

    • Day 66: Played 18! Wasn't really keeping track of score, but guessing in the low 80s. Driving okay, iron play up and down, lagging putting really bad. Overall, it was good to get out and play.
    • Day 41 - 2026-01-30 More backswing and grip work on the mat / net. Also some mirror time focused on trail weight.
    • Day 12 (30 Jan 26) -  Had hoped the men’s group would be playing, but the cold temps and delayed opening kept them at bay. Spent some time on the range working on loading the trail foot on the backswing (focusing on loading the inner portion of the foot and collapsing the knee slightly toward the ball). Learned too much really brought on a left pull.  Easing back a bit, really helped compressing the ball and overall accuracy.  Took it to the course for a practice round, focusing on this small change.  Saw better dispersion across the bag….guess this will be part of the mirror work drills as snowpacolypse 2 hits eastern NC.
    • I’d go with the Titleist if you liked the look of the blades but were suffering with distance. They should be a little more forgiving than a full blade and still retain some workability. Also remember to consider the shafts each have as this will be a big contributor to how they feel. Clemsonfan is right though… get fit or spend a bit of time on a launch monitor 🤙
    • Day 28: 2026.01.30 Managed to make time for a few swings out back today. Need a proper bit of range time this weekend.
