This topic is getting very weird.  Some of us are referring to pitch shots around 50 yards, while others are referring to shots around 20 yards.

Topic Title was "Within 50 yds" .... nothing weird that some of us (me) are also talking about 20 or 30 yds ..... IMHO that is within 50 yds ...... isn't it ?

Sure, but I feel like it should be more clearly defined as to whether you're referring to a chip shot or a pitch shot.  A 50 yard pitch is very different from a 20 yard chip.

Nothing odd about "Within 50 yards"

Opens up a good discussion on what you would hit and the OP likes a Bump n Run from his post.  It actually was nice to see how many people have a BnR in the bag.  Not to say it is a good or bad shot... just having it in the bag is a good option if you can play it.

Bump and run isn't in my repertoire. The fairways aren't cut low enough for predictable roll and I'm never in one anyway.

8i as long as I don't have to go over a trap, then I use my 52* or sometimes my 58* depending on how I feel and how much green I have to work with.

Thought you could just slip that one in and no one would notice?

Anything from a 7I to a lob wedge-Depending on the type of shot.

50 yds. Meh. 99% of the time,  PW choked kind of waist high.

Within 50 yards my go to is a flighted down 58 degree wedge.  I recently picked up a 64 degree high toe wedge which I use when I have to go high.  As a kid I played a lot of 8 iron bump and runs but that was then and this is now.

I don’t bump and run.

Not something I practised much learning the game. I prefer to move the ball thru the air around the greens. If a shot can be ran up on the green then I’ll putt it.
