I think this could a decent tournament. Not only is it at the home of golf but there are some great players competing . Hope they show it on Sky sports Mix (the free channel) or the BBC.

I quite like the seniors, less of the bombing it 350-400 off the tee and lob wedge to the green and a little more variety of shots.

If Tom Watson joins TST, can we give him the award for successful completion of the no fives challenge, given his first round today?

Just turned it on briefly and saw Vijay getting angry at a fan. Shocker.

Kinda. He’s a well liked guy among his peers.

LOL, I had the same thought watching Tiger last Saturday.

EDIT:  (Looks like Kirk Triplett, Vijay SIngh, and Jeff Sluman also deserve the award today.)

Big names making moves today. 2nd round play suspended due to darkness, which happened because of a fog delay earlier in the round. Most players, including all the leaders did finish.

Jimenez and Ames leading at -9, Watson, Vijay, Langer, Monty, Pernice, Perry, Lehman, Triplett, Sluman, Lyle, McGinley all in the top 12, within 4 of the lead.

Faxon rallied to probably make the cut, Looks like Sir Nick and Brandel will miss the cut.

Could be an exciting weekend!

Jimenez keeps the lead with an up and down day. Hit some shaky pitches, but also dropped some bombs on the greens.

Par was a good score today with the wind picking up.

Watson held the solo lead early on his back 9, but pulled a Tiger and kind of lost it. Still in the mix though, 3 back. Langer also faded a bit, but still right there.

Lots of others still within reach, too. The conditions (and some wonky play) kept anyone from running away with it.

Looking forward to Sunday!

Solid final round by Jimenez, especially with a guy like Langer breathing down his neck. Heck of a par on 17 after a bad tee shot. Winning any tournament is special, but to win a tournament like this at St. Andrews is quite special for sure.

Got home from a movie to two pieces of good news:  Jimenez won the Senior British Open and Langer didn't win it!

    • Hi @RetiredOldMan!  I am glad to see you are still playing and having good scores.  I hope that when I am 79, I am not only able to play, but still able to produce as good scores as you have been doing.   I look forward to hearing more of your success and your opinion of the senior flex shafts.
    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.
