My husband thinks it is the culture of the club. Most have their own group already and don’t want to play with anyone else.
What’s weird is that there are 4 people (current coach, 2 ex-coach, 1 club pro) who knows my handicap and that I have been working on improving my driver specifically. All of them, at one point or another, told me that if I hit any further with my driver, no one will want to play with me! Huh?!
It's a shame that you need "permission' to play in another group...especially a golfer who is a single cap and a fast player ....doesn't sound like your club is very friendly.
I would think at most clubs...that a female golfer with a single cap would be a popular player to be paired up with.
I use to play in a casual golf league here. There use to be 3 separate Korean female golfers...my friend and I got to know them and played often with them outside the league. 2 of the ladies shot 100+ and the other was about a 9 or 10 cap with broken English. Many guys in the league would be asking the league coordinator if they could be paired up with these ladies....no one cared if they shot 80 or 110.
The 9.5* X Hot driver can be changed and lofted up to play at 11*.
So what are you trying to accomplish with more trajectory?
You're an unicorn...I've played golf for many years and have yet to meet a 17 cap that can generate a 110 mph driver SS without swinging out of control...never mind 118.
I'd say you need to change your swing if you want to hit the ball higher with consistency.
Sometimes one has to resign that they are a low ball hitter.....it's not bad being a low ball driver if you're driving the ball well.
I don't hit my driver overly high....but I've come to live with it because driving is one of my strengths...there are other parts of my game I need to improve to lower my scores.
1) I'm not as familiar with the Cally Opti fit adapter....but if you open a face...it typically delofts a club....I'd say loft up 1.5* with a 'closed' face to assist with more trajectory.
I play in a Senior Traveling tournament league pretty much every week. We play 25 different courses this year. Some of those will be a 2 hour drive for me because we play on Thursdays and have to deal with rush hour work and school traffic.
