In the UP, they don't do winter golf but when the sun comes out they try to enjoy it as much as they can.

It's too early in Michigan to close up the outdoors.   We're suppose to have some good weather this fall.

I bought a membership at the local indoor simulator and have played a few times already including today.

FWIW, you can use that mat outdoors too and not have to hit in a mud pit. 😉

Mud pit?! 😲  You mean my "all natural surface." 😉  Next year, Bermuda grass. 😊

I need to swing everyday and I'm guessing more bad weather days than good ones this month.  Thus, the move.

I live in SC and generally I play every week in the winter.   It stays wet, cart path only, from Nov - April pretty much and it can be low 30s teeing off in the morning.   But I can play all year.

I played through winter last year and plan to do the same again this winter. The only difference is that I dress for a little rain and cooler temps, and adjust to no roll on most shots.

I love those rare winter days when it is both warm enough and dry enough to play, but not so warm that everyone is out there. Give me about 45 degrees and cloudy. That'll keep the squares away without my hands going numb.

My old home courses were especially moody in winter with all the naked tree branches and the Cargill plant belching steam into the slate grey sky.

You could just go out there and really get away from everyone. That's something that doesn't happen much for me.
