OK I maybe picky with my shiny new clubs. I even have iron covers for my AP2s.

After each shot, I clean the iron thouroghly, so there is no dirt or grass can be seen in the grooves.

So lets ask the question to everybody here, do you clean your clubs after each shot?

I clean my clubs if there is mud on them or some type of debris.  However, I would say on average I do not clean them after each shot. I give them a deep clean after each round and a quick swipe of the towel on the course if needed.

I do... My golf towel was a gift that gets a lot of usage to say the least. When I began playing, I never did, but now I realize those groves have a purpose and they wouldn't put them in the club if they were supposed to be filled with dirt!

I clean my clubs after pretty much every shot. I have the brush attached to my bag in a place that lets me use it while I'm walking. Occasionally I'll remember to wet my towel, but not often.

Aha very nice. I thought I was the only one who was crazy about clean clubs.

I bring the same wet towel with me to the green to clean my ball also.

Most of the courses around here have a club and ball washer on every golf cart. I use them. After every shot I dip my iron in for a quick couple scrubs and then wipe it with my golf towel. I've gotten so used to it that now I get upset when I play a course that doesn't have a club washer on the golf cart. #firstworldproblems

Yes.  I have first generation AP-2 irons, and like every club I've owned for more than 20 years, I clean them after every shot.  However, I can't fathom putting  head covers on them.

Is there anything more fun and rewarding than cleaning off your iron after you hit a perfect iron shot that takes one hop and stops 6 ft left of the flag. So much better than cleaning the mud off after you chunked one into the hazard.

I clean when they are dirty. But every shot is a bit much. Probably slows down the pace of play a little bit which is my biggest peeve on the golf course. If I cant play 18 in 3 hours or less I see that as a problem. Play better when I play fast anyways.

3 seconds times 30 odd iron shots in a round. I'm guessing its not contributing too much to your pace of play issues..... :-\

Yikes! You better keep those AP2s of yours in good condition. 3 hours or less? You must be a club member. No public course in this country where you can play that fast.

Huh? Lots of them. Even when I dawdle and wipe off my irons after each shot. :-D
