I have been in the market for new grips but don't know what I'm looking for.

I would like something that doesn't slip out of my hands too much cuz I tend to sweat a lot.  I am currently testing out a WINN dry and Lamkin crossline and was told the Lamkin would be better, but in fact the WINN seems to stick better.

Any Suggestions ?

Try out the Pure grips.  I bought my first Pure grips on this site when Erik (site owner) worked out a deal with Pure for us to purchase them with the 5SK logo on them.

The grips are installed with an air compressor, (no tape, no solution, etc) and they are by far the best grips I've ever used.  My hands sweat a lot in the summer (usually rotate 4 gloves a round) and I've never had my hands slip using the Pure grips.

The 5SK grips were Pure Pro's but I've since purchased the Pure DTX which compare to corded grips and I like them even better.  They are cheaper than most competitor grips and if you own an air compressor you'll save even more money installing them yourself.

On my clubs I use a golf pride black/white multi compound. I have played with them in the rain and the club doesn't even slip! It's all to your personal preference.

I've been using the Winn - Dry-tecs OS 1/8", you need to get grip-fitted for any grip and it would be by the guy that installs them, I had slippage because I was playing a standard size grip.... They wear pretty good, 60 - 70 rounds for me on wedges and irons, but my driver death grip causes the driver grip to last only maybe 50 rounds. That also includes range work about once a week hitting 90 balls. Every golfer that touches them either Ewws or Awes them. There is a cheaper one by Lamkin or golf pride that is close to these, but I have not tried them yet....

I don't like to switch grips - I use Lamkin because typically they last a long time - when it's hot and I sweat, my first move is a "guerrilla towel." It's a towel with super tackiness that you rub on your grip and/or hands. My second move is a double wrist band I picked up on Amazon - use it on the left wrist, and I also use a glove.

I only use a glove when I must - generally, I go bare handed, as I did today, when a cool front left the temps in the low 90's. I used a little bit of the guerrilla towel.

With the Lamkin, I use the REL 3GEN, and use the Performance Plus Wedge Grips on the Wedges - I like the Wedge Grips, so the Performance Plus would also be on the "must try" list.

Another recommendation for the PURE Pro.  I sweat like crazy and never have an issue with them.  Also might want to check out the PURE P2 Wrap (if you like wrap style) because I installed those on some friends clubs and they just seemed incredibly tacky.  I have been debating trying out the PURE DTX

Can't go wrong with the PURES... And btw, Winn grips suck more than Michael Jackson at a Boy Scouts convention...

I like the Pure DTX even better than the Pro's but they are rough on leather golf gloves, even more so than corded grips.

    • For such a nice membership, there have been some bad incidents in the past few years.  We had someone voted out a couple of years ago over something he did and he harassed the board members for three months until he moved out of the area.   Generally they’ve tried to do things like tournament handicaps and identify certain people who they know should be lower and adjust it somehow.  I can understand not wanting to go thru something like the guy who was voted out again i emailed the pro who forwarded it to the handicap committee.  They are going to see what can be done.  I walked someone thru what happened and they are going to nudge him to post the score from the match and see what he does.  Since he didn’t put anything in the electronic scoring past 13, based on how he played 14 and 15 plus having to take bogey on 16-18 for after he left, he should post 83.  We’ll see if it’s even higher,   Since he was really even thru 13, then doubled 14 and parred 15 my guess is he really shot 75 being generous and giving him 2 pars and a bogey on the three holes he didn’t play.    i shot 88, getting 16 shots for my course handicap which is net even and I lost on 13.  We do brackets where handicaps should be within 4-5 of each other.  Most matches only have 1-2 shots as a difference between players  neither of us posted the score yet.  There was something in the match play rules about whether or not to post your score.  I couldn’t remember if we were supposed to or not.  I don’t think he was going to post that, because even with his inflated score it would be the lowest score in his recent 20. Lucky I didn’t because they want to see what he does post and they don’t want me posting so he can try to calibrate his score.
