In this month's Golf Digest magazine, there is an interview of Tiger Woods by legendary golf writer Dan Jenkins. As usual, Jenkins, the interviewer, made up all the questions. In an interesting twist, Jenkins made up all the answers, too. It is too funny for words, and spot bleeping on.

We're the answers, dry, shallow, lacking content? did he use the words & phrases like " process, reps, traj, ball compression, firing sequence, explosiveness????

Here is Tiger's reply.

I'd say this was all orchestrated by Golf Digest. Smart. :-)

I read the interview - I read Tiger's response

The interview wasn't funny, seemed like a bitter slam piece, pretty low level in a sport where being courteous is considered one of the foundations

Tiger's response to it was decent and maintained a bit of class

I'm not a Tiger fan, but I think Jenkins comes across as an ass

I have to say that given this writer's behavior I don't blame Tiger for never offering an interview. Dated material that makes him look like a fool and out right unfunny stuff unless you hate Tiger already. These old codgers that get to a point where the line blurs and they think it is okay to play grab ass with bosses wife while he is in the room. This isn't far off the PGA president Ted Bishop's twitter responses to Poulter except the morons at GD thought it was print worthy. If I was the PGA I would consider pulling him out of the hall of fame. A petty, egocentrically personal attack on character against one of the most prolific golfers who made GD a ton of money over the years by bringing more fans and money to golf than anyone ever.

What if this was written about Jack or Arnie? This guy needs to be put out to pasture.

Beyond shock value you have to question what Jenkins and the GD editors were thinking when they published this piece.

  1. Tiger doesn't have much of a sense of humor about these things, so obviously they knew he and his agent wouldn't view it favorably.
  2. Despite the lack of majors and his injury, the golf industry and media still rely heavily on Tiger to keep people interested in golf.
  3. I don't know Golf Digests demographics but I doubt more than half of them dislike Tiger and found Jenkins piece funny or appropriate.

The publishing industry is struggling overall so you have to question the business sense of a management team that decides to attack one of the greatest players in the sports history and the most prolific of in the sport today.

I'll never be looked at as a Tiger fan by any means, but Golf Digest should be ashamed for letting this tasteless article be published.  This might help sales because of the "shock" factor mentioned above, but the negative ramifications will outshine that in the end.  It's a pretty surprising article to say the least.  SMH

Jenkins is an a.. that's a given. Not sure why Golf Digest publish such distasteful parody interview - they may have accomplished more sales for the month of December but beyond that they lose big time.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
