Just set up the net for quarantine and realizing using live ammo might be problematic for a couple of reasons.  I have basic plastic wiffle balls (which are working) but am wondering if there is a step up, a midway to a real ball.  Anybody know of any?

But their site seems to be half-baked right now.

I can't vouch for these but they might be similar:

Those are "okay." They're pretty squishy.

They go far.

I'd forgotten how far they went, and one spring years ago, I took one out into my yard… and promptly hit an 8-iron onto my neighbor's roof. Fortunately it rolled off and managed to avoid the gutter.

I do like how they'll curve, though. The BirdieBalls.

These are probably my favorite balls to practice in my yard with. Distance is pretty good, a well-struck 8-iron for me with one of those goes about 50 yards (when it doesn’t get stuck in the trees 😉) . The only downside I can think of is that they bounce around quite a bit. I’ve hit one that landed on a very subtle hill and it kicked hard to the right. But if I had to give these a review, I’d say four stars out of five, the one star deducted due to the downside I mentioned. Really good ball though.

Almost Golf is out of business.  You can still stumble upon them every now and then.  They used to go for around $1 a ball but I've seen them for as much as $3+ each.  If anyone really is looking for them and is willing to pay a bit more, I found this (but they are white not yellow)...

The best limited flight plastic golf balls were made by Brush-T and called Qolf Balls.  They were hard plastic and heavier than Almost Golf, had a nicer feel and would go a little bit farther.  I bought a box of 60 a while back, but have been using Almost Golf around the school yard if anyone is remotely close by.  I still look for them, but they seem to be long gone.

Edit Added:  It may seem high, but at east it isn't $500-$600 for a Clicgear cart.

I got birdie balls last month and they have a great feel when you strike. They go about 40 yards max. I go to the park down the street and hit on the grass there.

Have used Birdie Balls, they are fun offering good flight.  Have used the Maxfli foam balls (like you get in the wire basket at Dick's) and they do pretty well except in the wind - they follow it instead of going thru it.  Also have used the SKILZ black/yellow soft wiffles, excellent for seeing how the spin is happening.  Last but not least, the good ol' white plastic wiffles.  Yard is big enough, I can even chip/pitch with real balls when I want to work on that part of the game as well.

I got some of these today, and wow... they really travel.  I had some of the smooth yellow Maxfli balls that they sell at Dick's, and I could hit driver from out near the street in front of our house and still could keep it short of the trees behind the house.  Today, I hit a seven iron from the same spot, and it sailed into the trees 30 feet in the air.  There are several vacant lots side by in the back of the neighborhood, and I stepped off shots of 55-65 yards with a nine iron.

The best feature of these balls is their flight.  Draws and fades move naturally in the air, unlike the yellow Maxflis that just swerve wildly in the air.  These are great if you have space, and even then, you may be limited to short irons.  I can't wait to try them out with a variety of clubs, but it's going to have to be in the open field, because our yard isn't big enough to contain the flight.

A neighbor just gave us some AlmostGolf balls, and wow are they great.  Solid off the clubface, and they travel a lot farther than the Callaway balls I have been using.  I got a new pack of the Callaways for Christmas, and they feel a lot lighter than the older ones, so they sort of balloon in the wind and don't travel nearly as far.

I took my 58° wedge and was hitting the AlmostGolf balls as far as I hit the Callaway balls with my 9 iron.  I am going to protect these with my life. :-)
