I don't know, did he also cheat on his wife and owe you an apology?

Nope.  But in all likelihood, he is cheating on his country.

Tweet of the week! Would love to see them find a muni where it would be possible to have the players tee off from spots that make the course like 7300 yards (even if they're not "tee boxes"), but then just play it as is 😆

He absolutely has the right to say what he said.  I have the right to say that he is a jerk.  Grayson, are you listening?  What is your reply?

I never questioned his right. I questioned if he was qualified to play. That might influence his statement.

Would you voluntarily turn down a Presidential Medal of Freedom? Meh. You can say yes here because you’re not being awarded one.

The PGA chose to go there, though, so it’s a different thing.

Bill Belichick was going to get a medal this Thursday, and he turned it down.

Seems like it was an easy decision for Belichick.

Sorenstam has shown herself to associate with some of the more extreme right wing nutters so I understand why she went.

I actually dont know much about Players politics.

So it's possible a decision could come as soon as Monday. Here is Geoff Shackelford speculating which course the PGA of America might pick.

I take it from the lack of responses that most people are like, meh? Anyway, here's a dissection from Geoff Shackelford.

They have a good-looking clubhouse.  I could sit on their veranda sipping a gin & tonic while reminiscing about my round...

I think Southern Hills is a good choice.  It looks like a very nice course and, likely, will not need a lot of extra prep before 2022 tournament.   And May weather in Tulsa should be nice.

The most likely dramatic end to a round of golf at Southern Hills was the shooting of Roger Wheeler in the parking lot!

Tulsa?  Really? Tulsa?

That's like not even an hour and a half from me.

Wow.  Okay, this is going to take planning. Serious planning.  Hmm.  first, gotta figure how to get time off from work.  Wait--I'm one of the owners. maybe I can just fire myself if I can't give myself the time off.  No, let's not go overboard here. Still ...

    • The distance, 131 yards, is dead on for my PW and I’ve not had clubs recorded wrong do I am confident it was the PW.
    • @Vcize it’s not unbelievable at all that a beginner, or a not-so-good golfer, can swing a club fast (especially a person with a baseball, hockey, lacrosse, etc. background).  But when the data doesn’t seem to match up, there will be questions.  And of course some people embellish, or don’t truly understand their numbers. I’d say if you’re piecing together a set, go with something more appropriate (stiff).  As you get better, a stiffer shaft will likely help you get better dispersion.  And a more appropriate club will probably wind up staying in your bag longer before needing/wanting to replace it.  Just my two cents. Its an awesome game.  Welcome
    • For me, I like to know if I hit the ball slightly on the heel or toe, and that feeling can get lost when hitting GI clubs. Also, I like the ball flight characteristics of the more blade irons. I found GI irons to difficult to flight low.  In the end, just get fit and go with you are most comfortable with for your game.
    • Day 66 (19 Aug 22) a bit of rain, so I worked on the putter stroke - tempo, equal take back and follow thru.
    • Great discussion on this topic.  I have a soft spot for the look of the old “blades” that were gifted me in the late 90’s (MacGregor Mike Souchak TSL) , which is why I lean toward the original 845 Silver Scots as well as the TM SLDR irons.  They look so good to my eye at address.  Sometimes I get stuck in the rhetoric that says if you shoot is “X” range you need to be playing this type of club.  This discussion lends itself to debunk that and just play the clubs that “talk to you”.  Much like when testing a new guitar, pay no attention to the head stock name or the price tag.  How it plays, how it sounds will tell you if it’s right.  Same with a properly fit club - there is a harmonious connection that happens.
