There golf info page says “Spikeless Shoes Only”. Are soft spikes allowed? I’ll have my Trues just in case.

They just mean no steel spikes I bet.

I prefer trolling @ChetlovesMer over dinner.

I love being trolled over dinner. 🤪

Troll on, Christian soldier. ... see what I did there?

I don’t. I’ll wear a different color belt if he’s buying my dinner.

Good luck with that. I hear he's a cheap skate.

Have fun guys, wish I could make it!

White belts unite this weekend, and everyone look alive when Christian is attempting flop shots near you. 🤣

and remember...no halter tops. Also note that you need Bermuda length shorts for our members who like to show their chiseled bods off.

Still looks decent, rain in the morning…

weather.gov has a 15-20% chance for pop up shower/t-storm after noon.

Seems fine. I feel like having played at RNK last year, a little rain isn’t going to bother me.

I plan to figure out some sort of team game for tomorrow. Quite likely $20 from each person (please bring $5 bills if possible).

  • $5 gross skins
  • $5 net skins
  • $10 team game (maybe $5 for the front and $5 for the back).

We’ll probably do something like 75% of handicaps and count 2 out of 4 scores for the hole or something like that. Maybe stableford points or something, I don’t know. I’ll know by the morning.

    • If you think this theory is true then it should be extremely easy to test. Either get on GEARS and check the lies of your longest and shortest irons, or go find a GC4 or Trackman and do the same. And if you don't have easy access to those, might I suggest the sharpie line check 😀.
    • My friend and I built me a set of tour cavity irons (4-pw) nearly 20yrs ago paired with rifle 6.0 shafts. As a 5 handicapper and 20yrs of trying 20 sets of different clubs, these tour cavity irons are the best. They’ve aged really well too. My only regret is I wish we would’ve built a 3 iron with my set, I’ve had a really difficult time trying to find one now.
    • I don’t see that analogy working. People, like @iacas, who use GEARS to obtain information are hardly average people in the golf world. No one suggested average people should run out and get a GEARS  system for themselves. It’s a suggestion that fitters may be interested in this information in regards to lie angles and how they’re currently measured.
    • OMG. Your Sharpie test isn’t anywhere near as accurate as GEARS. And the friend has seen thousands and thousands of shots hit on GEARS.
    • Not saying the "average person" is buying the GEARS set up, the average person buys access to the technology that otherwise would be unavailable to them.  Here's an experiment. Go check the lie angle question that started this thread using GEARS, and then cross check those results with the sharpie check. See how the results compare.
