I was noticing it, but my priority piece at the moment for full swing shots is about shortening my backswing, so I've been exaggerating lately.  J.B. Holmes' full shots look (or, last I watched him intently, it's been a while) like he's chipping, even with a driver, so.

And with that, Xander is eliminated from contention 😞 I am very much looking forward to his second major victory.

And my second favorite of the ones who were in contention today misses his chance to tie the clubhouse lead barely at 18.  CM is out 😞 

But Rahm at 5 under going to 18.

Imagine that, someone sinking a birdie putt on #72 at a U.S. Open at Torrey Pines and celebrating like that, knowing it could result in a win or a playoff.

And with that bogey, Rory is out.  L.O. has a short putt left on the 15th green;  including that, if he can finish out in 13 strokes (or fewer), he wins.  14 exactly, playoff.  If he takes 14 from here and hasn't holed out on 18 with that 14th, Rahm wins.

      Yeah - I'll keep an eye on that - I've been across the line for about forever, so I assume that I want to overexaggerate the laid off bit to get it closer to square when I take a real swipe at the ball.

      First swings at after a 2.5 month forced hiatus. No surgery in the forecast at the moment! Doc said okay to start easing in gently over a few weeks. The effort is barely 30% here but felt solid.  I think my swing changed a few years ago after my right ankle injury (weight shift profile). I wonder if this may bring about another change. I certainly won't pivot on to the knee (left) aggressively any time soon, if ever. Could even be a good thing..heh.
