And Will Smith would have replied F/U... and I'm not leaving until I pick up my hardware.

Lol. I’d give it to him and say out ya go.

😄  The security detail could have said, "You'll exit with us now, peacefully, low key, or you'll exit in 60 seconds with the police, being carried out."

What does this have to do with WS slapping CR?

It's got to do with Rock being an unfunny asshole. Not saying unfunny assholes should be slapped....

Anyone remember that racist piece of shit John Wayne going ape shit and having to be restrained over the Indigenous American woman?

I understand @iacas pointed this out as off-topic but I just want to say that no, I do not remember this at all, but I do know about this.

And the reason I find it to be at least slightly on topic is because I only learned about it this week BECAUSE of the Will Smith slap incident.

I have such a low opinion of Hollywood that the issue of right or wrong does not enter into the equation. I voted for Will because I postulate Mrs. Smith demanded something be done, and slapping Chris Rock is something that many would like to do.  At least it made us talk about the Oscars, which I doubt any of us would be discussing otherwise.

The more I talked about this with other people, the more my opinion goes on being on the side of Chris Rock. There was about half a dozen ways Will Smith could have made CR look like the wrong person in this situation, and he did the one thing that totally took him off the high ground. He could have used this moment to bring awareness of the disease his wife has, but instead he chose violence.

I can understand the whole chivalry thing, but it's not a good enough reason for Will Smith to do this.

Let's say if Will Smith during his acceptance speech talked about the hardships his wife goes through with her disease and how it isn't good form for them to be made fun. That sort of thing would had a lot of people highly question CR choice of jokes. Will Smith would still have looked like a loving husband who stood up for his wife and people who suffer from the disease his wife has.

Yea, there is no really argument for Will Smith choosing violence as the being the correct choice in this situation.

This is assuming CR new she had alopecia. Poking fun at someone who decided to shave their head is hardly a cruel or poor taste joke. Yes, poking a joke at someone who has lost their hair from illness could offend some people, but otherwise I don’t think it’s crossing any lines if it’s just making fun of a hair style.

Being compared to Demi Moore in her hotness prime is not the worst thing to have ever been said on that stage. It goes with the territory. The fact that all those people in the audience stayed and then gave a standing ovation just shows the bizarre Hollywood hypocrisy machine not knowing what to do when faced with one of their own misbehaving.

My thought is simple - Will Smith was way wrong. He swung outside in, failed to establish and keep a solid footing, and turned his hips way past the target. Not to mention his head position! Will Smith Reaction GIF by Fools In Progress Theatre Co.

    • I don’t measure my intake either. I generally have a black coffee, a bottle of soda, some sweet tea at home, and anything in between is water. An ice cold bottle of water is one of my favorite things. It feels like an immediate refresher for my body. I’ll admit that I need to drink a little more though.
    • For such a nice membership, there have been some bad incidents in the past few years.  We had someone voted out a couple of years ago over something he did and he harassed the board members for three months until he moved out of the area.   Generally they’ve tried to do things like tournament handicaps and identify certain people who they know should be lower and adjust it somehow.  I can understand not wanting to go thru something like the guy who was voted out again i emailed the pro who forwarded it to the handicap committee.  They are going to see what can be done.  I walked someone thru what happened and they are going to nudge him to post the score from the match and see what he does.  Since he didn’t put anything in the electronic scoring past 13, based on how he played 14 and 15 plus having to take bogey on 16-18 for after he left, he should post 83.  We’ll see if it’s even higher,   Since he was really even thru 13, then doubled 14 and parred 15 my guess is he really shot 75 being generous and giving him 2 pars and a bogey on the three holes he didn’t play.    i shot 88, getting 16 shots for my course handicap which is net even and I lost on 13.  We do brackets where handicaps should be within 4-5 of each other.  Most matches only have 1-2 shots as a difference between players  neither of us posted the score yet.  There was something in the match play rules about whether or not to post your score.  I couldn’t remember if we were supposed to or not.  I don’t think he was going to post that, because even with his inflated score it would be the lowest score in his recent 20. Lucky I didn’t because they want to see what he does post and they don’t want me posting so he can try to calibrate his score.
