Will do my best to not root against Clark. The approach on 18 was freaking awesome. Seems like a great guy to get behind if it weren't for Rickie/Rory on the leaderboard.

Heck I am conflicted about which R I want to get behind. They've both got monkeys on their backs. It seems Rory is carrying a heavier psychological load that's getting heavier with each passing major. Rickie seems to have come out of nowhere. I'm sure he would want nothing more than the ultimate validation of a career that we thought it would be a few years ago.

This is all very exciting.

Oh, BTW, wish all y'all fathers a great day!

Just a few Fried Egg videos to help you prep for a good (hopefully) final round.

Why did Fowler get all the attention and camera time?

there were two players tied for the lead after the first round.

Padraig Harrington Round 3, 67 strokes, 214 full throttle practice swings. I got wore out watching him lol.

Rickie's to lose

Rory's to win

Scotty you never know

Wyndham they will continue to exploit his story about his mom. If he pulls it off it will be the feel good story.

Radar O'Riley ( Patrick Reed) sitting at next to last place. hehehe

Happy Fathers Day everyone.

Your post seems to suggest that facts should actually matter to people when they make comments 😉

It was hard to tell on the TV, but it looks like some were not happy with how late the tee times were due to how dark it was when they finished.

I would respond, play faster 😜

That's true, the last group was - I think - a whole hole behind

Rory and DJ play fast. So, I can understand that. I think Clark is slow. Rickie, seems to play at a normal pace.

Today they are starting an hour earlier. I bet they still finish at dark 🤣

In case there's a playoff. It's now… two holes, IIRC. Golf's majors have 1, 2, 3, and 4-hole playoffs.

Looks like it hit the cup liner? Is the liner installed too high? I am just going to say, the putt was hit too hard.

Yeah, the cup liner may have been too high. But even then it usually doesn't have quite enough of a corner, because the cup liner isn't THAT thick. The little 45° angle it creates usually hits pretty high up on the ball.

But I think it was too high, in looking at the video. Not a ton of paint. I wonder if one of the guys pulled it out slightly when taking the stick out. If it got angled slightly that could also increase the distance the "lip" of the metal cup sticks out away from the sod wall, too.

Is it me or their far too many ED ads being shown?😜

Rory is looking good, but he’s missing some approach shots that he would normally hit close.

Fowler with the less-than-ideal start.

What a great final day .... Fowler / Rory / Scheffler ?? or will Clark keep his lead to the end ...I really don't know who I want to win of these 4 ... prob Fowler purely as what a come-back from looking like might well have played his last Major awhile ago ..

My money was on Cam Smith ...but he's too far back ..

DJ shows he has the game but that one hole wiped him out of contentions early and his putting hasn't been on point ...

It is exciting. The back nine is the key.

    • speed blades don't have a 3iron that I know of. My 4 is already 20* . I love it as it is super straight. I went to golf Galaxy to try some hybrids and 2 iron my numbers and spin were bouncing all over the place. wasn't hitting good that day. I did hit the 4 ping 430 hybrid 215yds a  couple of times but never got consistency anywhere. It was all me mis hitting that day.The GAPR is something to think about and would like to try one sometime. in the meantime I had a 16* Adams Gold pro hybrid I was using. I took it out, choked up on it to hit it like an iron and hit it 185 into the wind and 230 with wind at my back. I am gonna ride with this awhile and see what I got. Looks promising from 1st outing.
    • My home course is Stoneleigh GC in Round Hill VA.  The course would get murdered, from the back tees its only about 6800 yards, and there's really not room to stretch it out. There would effectively be no par-5s, and several of the par-4s would be reachable.  For contrast, local qualifying in my area is often held at Woodmont CC in Maryland, which played to over 7300 yards this year.  It took 134 (-8) to qualify for the US Open.
    • If you like Taylormade, they have produced GAPR clubs for several years now. They are not-quite-hybrids... but close. They come in Lo, Mid and Hi varieties which vary in how much they look like an iron. The Lo is almost a chunky iron. The Hi looks very hybrid-esque. The Mid is somewhere in between.  Since they've made them for a while now and come out with new variations on them every year, you can probably get a slightly used one at a pretty good deal. They change the color and tweak them here and there, but they aren't that much different. If money is no object go get fitted for one that gets you your 200 yards consistently.  If the GAPR doesn't work for you Taylormade UDI and DHY might be more your cup of tea. These are slightly more iron-y than the GAPR's.  Incidentally Ping also makes a similar product theirs is called a crossover.  Basically, all the big brands have something like this. Just search out Utility Irons and you should get plenty of options.

    • Nope. Miami Shores GC in Troy, Oh wouldn't be considered for a qualifier. Even from the tips, it's only a 68.6/116.  Great course for average hackers like me, but not a venue for bigger competitions.
