And how could he post his driver distance because, well, he doesn't have one, or it broke or it's made out of wood, or I forget all the other reasons.

Hi.  4 iron is a 24 deg.  Not sure why the extra distance / gap between 4 iron & hybrid, but when recently in the US I was hunting for a used 21 degree Titleist 910H so I could increase the loft a little.  I play a links course right on the ocean and wind is a huge factor so distances often vary a bit too depending on wind direction.

I play at altitude (2800 feet) and I typically make good contact with a hard swing.

Can hit the high cut 220 to the long par 3s and the hard draw 360 to the short par 4s.  Sometimes I get in trouble on the 380-390 holes cause I try to drive the green and get myself in trouble.  Oh and I only play in Death Valley (super low altitude).  Some day I'll move to Denver so I can drive the short par 5 greens.

yep, me too.

Working on incorporating more wrist hinge & trying to keep things under control while doing so ... when it works, it's at least 15-20 yards longer - quite amazing actually what this one little change does, everything else being equal.

250 on average.  I could probably muscle it out to 275 but lately Ive been working on slowing my swing down and having better tempo so that I keep it in the fairway more often.

If I throw all caution to the wind and take a monster, wrist flipping swing...and my timing is ON...I can hit it 310.

If I take a well controlled, safe swing with quiet hands... I hit about 270-275 average. I fly it about 260. I've been working on my upper body a lot, so I think that number is gonna increase a bit.

Really getting after it and having a few stars align... 300+ can happen. I have really focused on just hitting fairways this year and I'd say my average is close to 250. Swinging hard and going way off line is not worth it.

These are typical good drives, not averages, because nobody averages 5-10 yards less than their max. Nobody.

all of my distances are in the -ish unit of measurement.

Driver 250-infinity and beyond (new driver, i have no clue what a true average would look like but i definitely picked up big yardage over my old 215-230)

3 wood 215-230

3 hybrid 200-210

4 180-190

5 170

6 160

7 150

8 through 58* i have no earthly idea. i use the 54* almost exclusively for sand shots, and i almost never end up between 130-100 left. if it's 100 or under i use the 58*.

the cleanest clubs in my bag are the 5, 8, 9, PW, and AW.

I agree with this..    My average is around 240. I have had a few in the 270+ range but those were anamolies.....

Working on upper body?  I think you should work on core and legs for more distance.

Average carry on GOOD DRIVES, is 250-260. With a good bounce and great roll in the fairway, i've gotten to 290 yards, but that is not carry. That is with bounce and roll.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
