Never even heard of it. I'll have to see if I can track a bottle down.

I believe (just based on my palette so I could be wrong) that it has a fairly high % of Talisker, as it is also from the Isle of Skye, in it so it has that nice peppery Talisker taste as it's base note. Outstanding value! My wife hates it, say it makes me stink and snore!

Anything that's similar to Talisker has to be pretty good. Thanks for the recommendation.

Me neither. I'm not a big fan of blended whisky. Most are terribly ordinary.....but I'll give it a try on EJ's recommendation! :-)

Nice and cold. It is hot as balls here and I just played matchplay with a couple of Italian pro footballers (the round kind), so it was pretty competitive! Learned some new expressions ...

OK, to be diplomatic, I would say that the waistlines were slightly larger than in the '80s at Juventus, but the perms were much smaller.

I began drinking single malt scotch w Aberlour 10, you can also try the 12.

It was an easy drinker at a reasonable price. The 10 was about $36 and the 12 was just under $50

I have sampled a couple of batches of the Aberlour A'bunadh the last couple years and really enjoyed it.  Most recently, I tried the Laphroaig 10 Year Cask Strength.  It is almost like drinking a campfire doused in honey...

  • 2 weeks later...

Tonight .. early dinner.

Corbis Syrah 2010 from the Ardeche

Imported by Kermitt-Lynch

About $15

A wonderful little Syrah at the right temps drinks like a high-$20's wine.

Smooth, dark fruits-berries, nice intensity, smooth tannins on the finish.

Made a drink tonight with some leftover peach juice (from canned peaches my wife used for something else), gin, triple sec, and seltzer. Nice tall glass chugger.

Did you borrow a pair of your wife's panties to wear while drinking that manly concoction? :w00t:

    • Day 169 - Full swings using MirrorVision. Need to film a few for Evolvr to see how things are progressing.
    • Day 73: Really wiped out today, so just hit 15 balls with 9-3 swings, and then putted around inside.
    • I tried them out a few years back but chose the Callaway Mavrik Pros. They’re nice as most Mizuno irons are. I used to play MP54’s and really liked them. I had a Mizuno stand  bag and never had any issues with it.🙂
    • Day 184: 6/24/24 Putting practice on a 3’ ruler, 1” wide. Good session and I hope to get back to full swings once tennis elbow improves. Exercises aren’t currently helping.
    • So last weekend was our annual two man best ball (two round net total for flight honors + a cross flight shootout tournament -  Schaubach Cup) tournament. It was a tale of two rounds. On day 1 my partner and bestie Pete (15.5 hcp) totally ham and egged to shoot a tourney best 58 - four shots clear of our next flight competitor team. He shot a career best 79 coming out with 5 straight pars while I fought my driver. I finally found my swing on the 6th hole and birdied three holes on the back side all of which I was stroking to pick up three net eagles. We basically played our our minds. It's amazing when driver/wedge/putter all workout. On the same day.  Day 2, as often happens ended up being a different story. We couldn't get much done with greens drying out to lightning fast (12 stimp) and shot a net 70 to finish 4 shots outside of making it to the playoffs. Good news was our flight leader won winning everyone in our flight $300 each.  In summary, except for the first four of the five holes, I have never driven the ball better and ecstatic that my putter made me a few bombs. Wedge was as good as I can control one in the pesky 55 to 85 yard range. Of course, all of this was day 1. Day 2 wasn't terrible but made no birds and had three three-putts...and my partner played like he had blown his load on Day 1. Heh. Another team shot 59 to beat us by a cumulative 4 shots. Came in 2nd. All in all was a great weekend.
