Leftovers is over, it will be one of my all time favorite shows, too bad it got only 8 episodes this season. Halfway through season 2 of Master of None and it's very good. American Gods will be done soon as well as The Handmaid's Tale, it's gonna be just Twin Peaks and Game of Thrones and then catch up time. Silicon Valley is good too, but the last episode was not as good as the previous ones.

I did a binge of both seasons of Amazon Prime's Red Oaks.   It was good, but nothing spectacular.   They favor tennis over golf, which knocks it down a little in my books.

Sad I'm finished with American Gods and The Handmaid's Tale, both finales were very good. A lot of less than rave reviews for AG but I really enjoyed it, only halfway through the book. Handmaid's Tale is a tough watch but a scathing commentary on how screwed up society can be, a cautionary tale. After these two the shows I put on hiatus seem like letdowns.

I agree on AG.   They have woven a pretty interesting tale so far.  I'm not sure if I'll revisit the book,  but I'll definitely watch the second season.

Its just about that time of year when I sweet talk the missus into getting HBO back for a few months.

Better call Saul continues to amaze and entertain.  This show, taken from breaking bad has developed on the single presmise of the prequel and given good writing, good casting and strong acting, I believe, in its own way, has surpassed Breaking Bad. Looking forward again to the next season.  Back to finish the latest year of House of Cards.  Other than Orange is the New Black, some news, and golf on Saturdays and Sundays if I don't get bored have become the normal tv watching for me. Replace golf with NE football and Montreal hockey and that is my time in front of the tube.

I watched season 1 of Game of Thrones last week. It was okay. Enough that I'll probably keep watching, but not enough where it really grabbed me.

I think it's a bit slow. Breaking Bad was better in every way, IMO. This is slow. It's been, what, three seasons now and Jimmy is still Jimmy? Heck, he hurt HIMSELF just toward the end instead of putting himself first when he blew his reputation up at the retirement home. That's the opposite of a Saul Goodman move - that's a Jimmy McGill move.

That's all my opinion, of course. Even now I'd probably watch any random episode of BB again (seen them all twice at least, too) than a hand-picked episode of BCS.

Wow...just wow.  By the way,  I. CAN'T. WAIT.

I never watched Twin Peaks when it first came out so it's been fun binge-watching that series.

Yeah, McIlroy works out too much. He's too big. That's The Mountain and Theon Greyjoy (who's what, 5'10" tops)  from Game of Thrones.

Theon's right shoulder looks Photoshopped. Looks weird. The lighting doesn't look off too much, but…? Are they really that differently sized? And I say that having seen the Dwayne Johnson/Yao Ming photo…

I don't know if that photo is completely real or not, but this is McGregor sparing with him and McGregor is probably about the same size or larger than the actor of Theon.

    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
    • Exactly correct.   I was absolutely certain about the penalty (none here), but the bit about where they play from can be really confusing the first time you read it.  In my big paper rule book, i used colored highlighters to make it clear.  Good thing I did, at the Cascades there's little to no cell service, so using the rules app on the phone wasnn't possible.
    • Taking a crack it, but looks pretty clear. 11.1  Ball in Motion Accidentally Hits Person or Outside Influence. a. No Penalty to Any Player If a player’s ball in motion accidentally hits any person (including the player) or outside influence: There is no penalty to any player. This is true even if the ball hits the player, the opponent or any other player or any of their caddies or equipment. Reading further down it looks like they have to play the ball as it lies. No replay from the previous spot.
    • I had an interesting one yesterday, a local qualifier for the US Senior Open, at the Cascades Course at the Homestead.  Well, first things first, the VSGA arrnged for the officials to play the Cascades on Monday at the players' practice round rate.  Its lots of fun, rather old-style (built in the 1920s).  anyway, a player missed a short putt, and (apparently embarrassed) took a step to be ready to tap the ball back in.  The ball lipped out, and hit the player's foot.  I was nearby, and they waved me over, and asked "What do we do now?"  I was pretty sure of the ruling, but asked them to wait for a few seconds while i double-checked.  I did have it correct, even though its one of the more confusing rules in the book right now.  I'll leave the correct answer out for now, in case anyone wants to guess, or research it, and post their ruling.
