i used to hit my 60 degree 100 yds, sand wedge 110 yds, and gap wedge 120 yds but now they just arent going that far....not really worried about why right now, im just not hitting them as far. now i hit my PW 140 yards with a full swing and back it down to 130 and 120, but if i try to hit it any closer to that i cannot get it high enough to land and stay on the green.

im probly gonna go out and find my full distances with my wedges, but also practice a partial swing with a pitching wedge and try to get it in the air...what do u guys hit from that range?

and one other thing...could i be hitting them shorter (and occasionally almost chunking them) because they are not offset? cuz even tho i do not like it, my adams irons are offset and even my cobra baffler 2 hybrid is somewhat offset.

Accuracy, repeatability, and soft landings are often far more important with the higher lofted clubs than distance.

I used to hit my wedges much further, but also much lower.

70-100 = SW for me, for a full 100yds I play the ball back in my stance moving it forward slightly to get it higher and shorter with a softer landing.

70-100 = SW
100-115 = GW
115-125 = PW

70-115 yards:

70-85 is SW

85-100 is UW

100-115 is PW

I swear, I should order another matching SW while I can get one as I'm on course for wearing mine out.

I use that beloved 54 for so many shots it ought to be illegal. Aside from my putter it's my favorite stick by far.

Anything below 100 yards will be a shorter swing with either club, depending on how high/low I want to bring the ball in and how much spin I want.

54* 115-120 yards
58* 100-105 yards

I can hit each about 5 yards further with a very full swing, but don't like to unless I'm feeling super confident at the time. Depending on conditions, I will "chip" a PW at 115-120 yards with low trajectory and low spin, more of a control shot I guess.

115-120 is my 9-iron, with my wedges in 10-yard increments below it.

60-70 is my dead zone. I guess I would hit half a 9-iron for it, but it never comes off when I'm stuck there. One of these days, I need to figure out what that shot is. In the meantime, within 60 yards, I know the club and swing. Outside, it's something full.

70-85 = sand wedge
86-115 = gap wedge

115 is the close to my ideal shot for my gap though. I'd probably hit a 3/4 pitching wedge for 115. Also, depending on the green and pin location, I may hit my gap or even pitching wedge if I need more roll from the shot from 50 yds and up.

70-80 yards: 3/4 swing 54* Sand Wedge
85-100 yards: 3/4 swing 50* Gap Wedge
105-115 yards: Full SW to 90% GW

My yardages for those clubs are:
50*GW: 125 Yards
54*SW: 105 Yards

I prefer not to swing full wedges. My distance control is a lot better on 3/4 swings.

i am never much in situations where a full swing with my 58 is necessary. i only use a 58 when in bunkers, or in greenside rough. for everything else up to 100 yards, there is my 51. i don't like having too many decisions as it leads to indecision, and many different types of shot that can easily be pulled off with my 51 .

I never swing more than 80% of my standard swing with my wedges because I become noticably more inconsistent with a bigger swing. With each wedge, I vary the length I take it back to get each 5-yard increment between clubs. Also, I only use my 58º around the green or within 50ish yards. I also change wedges depending if I'm swinging harder to generate spin or if I'm hitting a "knock-down" to get to a back pin placement. The normal distance gaps are as follows:

50º wedge = 110 - 125 yards
54º wedge = 80 - 110 yards
58º wedge = around green or <50 yards

    • I have a 2h but we don’t get along anymore. It’s a bit of an abusive relationship - she gives me just enough hope once in a while that things are going to be better and then it’s back to the same old shit. I went to a PING fitting recently with the intention to replace the hybrid with a 5w or something, thinking maybe I’ll be better with a fairway wood than a hybrid. But it turns out the best club I hit that fits in that slot in the bag is another hybrid so I ordered it.

    • Not the last thing I bought or bought anything at all but Sun Day Red stuff seems a bit overpriced for it essentially being rebranded Nike apparel. I'm hearing the resale prices are wild though. Either way, I highly doubt I will indulge as I'm not much of a brand guy or a collector. But to keep up my super nice guy image have never turned down a gift though 😇 Tiger doesn't seem to sell stuff like MJ or Kanye did.
