Working on a four-stage swing at this point:

1) Swing to 2 making sure my right elbow bends quite a bit.

2) Swing to 4 by simply turning (elbow still does what it does, including separate a bit from my chest, but it feels like nothing happens)

3) Swing to 6 with the hands going out (leaving clubhead inside)

4) Swing to 7.5 with the hands still going out and on to the finish.

It's working pretty well. My miss currently is to thin the ball a little bit, but that's also a built-in thing in that I always prefer to hit the ball slightly thin over slightly fat.

Give or take a little.

Today they were all carry yardages because we got a lot of rain last night.

People will also see that while I can hit a 5-iron 195, I rarely choose to hit it from that yardage. Especially shots from 165 and in. 8-iron goes just a bit over 150, but I hit it from 139 more than I hit it from 152. That sort of thing.

P.S. I just noticed it said I had 153 to #2 and hit 6I. The blue tees were on the back tee today, and I had 175. So… oops. You can't edit a round after you sign it, though, so… oh well.

Btw: nice round! I hope I'll be able to play those numbers one day :)

I always screw-up when I am getting close to even on a round :-( - don't know why. But I must say, it has been a hard, frustrating but delightful journey from 24 to 3ish in three and half years. And Evolvr played a big role in shaping my game. On another note how do I order a copy of your book to be shipped to India ? The ebay site does not have a India ship option.

How are you hitting those? Just easing up a bit for better accuracy? Or is it more like a 3/4 feel?

Basically. Check the "Golf Terminology" link in my signature. Or here:

Uhm… I'm not sure. eBay is our only international shipping option at this point in time. We really, really look to avoid shipping internationally. It's a tremendous pain and books seem to go missing far too frequently.

Slightly shorter backswings. Feels similar coming down, but sometimes I take a bit off there too if necessary.

My 166-yard 6-iron on 12… a tree was in my backswing, so that was a little punch shot I tried to cut. Just stayed straight. If I'm in the rough there's a 95% chance I'm taking something off. They tend to result in fewer fliers.

Yes. Usually preceded by an A, sometimes a P. 1 is address 2 is club shaft parallel to ground 3 is left arm parallel 4 is top of backswing 5 same as 3 on way down 6 same as 2 7 impact

    • This is an awesome breakdown. most of the bigger tournaments usually have one wave with the advantage, Thank you for the breakdown. If it is soft then it will be a lower final score
    • Over the past 15 years, the winning score has ranged from -10 to -20. Mostly around -13.  Here is Thursday and Friday weather. Saturday and Sunday weather. I think the course will play soft. Plenty of sky cover, lots of rain on Thursday. Fairways and greens will probably stay soft throughout the week.  In terms of tee times, I think Thursday morning and Friday afternoon have the biggest advantage.
