They've been good friends for a long time. Tiger is an expert in winning majors when having a lead going into the last day and Clarke would have loved the advice. Nice thing for him to do.

Thoughts?

What do you mean? What are your thoughts? What can one possibly "think" about it?

Your THOUGHTS. You don't know what thoughts are?

Some people were questioning why he didn't send any to Phil. Just thought I'd post a thread about it since it hasn't been talked about yet on here. Just something to talk about, that's all. Didn't realize some people thought it's impossible to think about something.

I don't think it's a secret that the two of them are friends. He was wishing him good luck, and giving advice. Clarke has refused to talk about the contents of the messages, so I would take any reports about their contents with a grain of salt.

Why would he send a text to Phil? Phil has won 4 majors. It would just look condescending if he tried to give him advice.

Besides, Tiger has no advice on how to come from behind in a major

I know, I was thinking the same thing. There were comments below that story like, "Why didn't he do that for Phil?" And I was thinking to myself, "These people are dumb".

Phil already knows how to win a major, and he wasn't leading the tournament...Clarke was.

Maybe Tiger does not have Phil's number? lol ...... wow the guy does a nice thing for a friend and people can do nothing but bash him. Why does it matter that he gave Clarke a bit of a stradegy guide and not Phil? because Clarke is not American? Big Whoop!  either way im happy for Clarke!!!!

Keep it where the mowers go!

Tiger @ Phil:

"Go get 'em buddy and just don't hit that 1-iron fat!"

5 minutes later.

"Get it, cuz ur kinda fat?!? LOLZ!"

These messages couldn't have been NEARLY as good as the ones he sent to some of his "ladies" ('loose' application of the term) that I heard on Howard Stern.

They are friends.

Friends text each other.

I don't really feel the need to think very much about it.

And sharing my ponderings on it here would probably be as mundane as the texts themselves would have been.

My thoughts: who cares? Me getting a stain out of my carpet using just club soda and table salt would make a better story than this.

They were probably just dirty texts to get Darren 'in the zone' for the day. Maybe some type of nice reward if he won

I thin it's a nice thing. Tiger's most likely not as good as some people want him to be nor as bad as others want him to be.

Funny how a thread like this reveals more about the posters than it does the subject.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

Wouldn't the world be a better place, if people realized this about everyone and everything?

Nothing in the swing is done at the expense of balance.
