I want to thank Erik for puttin' up with me the 1st couple years I was here. It took me a bit to "get it", but I think I do now, for the most part anyway. ;-) Just glad to be a small part of the place. Thanks!

Same here.

I think that just goes to further illustrate the important role Forum Leaders play, it's our task to help other new guys "get it".

Here's an example of how we can help: http://thesandtrap.com/t/72905/create-a-golfer-peh-welcome-new-members

Honestly, I don't even remember that kind of stuff. I have no idea what you mean. There have been a lot of users over the last nine years (the tenth anniversary of the forum and the site is in August/September this year).

My only recollection of you is that you've been around for a long time, you like some of the second-tier (in name, not quality) brands, and you have a lot of clubs. You may or may not have been a fitter or worked closely with one in the past. And I could be wrong about most of that stuff. :)

It appears the first iteration of this was shortly after I disappeared the first time. Sorry for letting you all down.

Thanks guys, this is pretty darn cool. I showed my wife my forum leader badge she just looked at me and walked away. She's hard to impress and she hates anything that I do that does not include her.

I had one of those. I got rid of her 8 years ago after 10 years of abuse.... Mine hated anything that made me happy unless it was her doing it...

She's married to a LEADER!

That's good for her too, right?

    • Interesting that it's no penalty, but then again, I can't imagine someone would purposefully put their foot out there in this situation or one like it.  And then there was the time someone purposefully deflected his own ball during a major, but that's very different too. The only time I can recall a ball I hit hitting another player or their equipment was ages ago -- over a decade and a half ago.  I had a 3' putt for an 89 and someone (a random pairing, not someone I knew) decided it was a good time for goaltending practice.  That wouldn't fall under this rule, though (and it wasn't in a tournament anyway). Thanks for continuing to share these, Dave!  I always find these interesting.
    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
    • Exactly correct.   I was absolutely certain about the penalty (none here), but the bit about where they play from can be really confusing the first time you read it.  In my big paper rule book, i used colored highlighters to make it clear.  Good thing I did, at the Cascades there's little to no cell service, so using the rules app on the phone wasnn't possible.
    • Taking a crack it, but looks pretty clear. 11.1  Ball in Motion Accidentally Hits Person or Outside Influence. a. No Penalty to Any Player If a player’s ball in motion accidentally hits any person (including the player) or outside influence: There is no penalty to any player. This is true even if the ball hits the player, the opponent or any other player or any of their caddies or equipment. Reading further down it looks like they have to play the ball as it lies. No replay from the previous spot.
